I wish you would give a little more information about who is in charge of the meeting and the focus of the meeting. The TVRH is not run by The Villages but by a separate hospital corporation. The building was built and is owned by The Villages. TVRH is separate from The Villages Health Care system.

Here is a rumor that I heard from someone whose information has always been dependable; That the new Medical building to be built near Brownwood would be associated with Shands Medical Center in Gainesville.

I sort of hope when the lease is up on The Hospital Corporation that is running TVRH that Advent Health can somehow take it over.(I don't know how that works) I really like what I see at Munroe Hospital in Ocala, now run by Advent Health.

I believe this meeting was set up by the POA to address the really LOW ratings the hospital got from CMS.

Since the CEO is doing the presentation I suspect you will hear the other side of the story....which is a good thing. I just hope that those attend are open minded and listen.

Advent Health would be my first choice because I have had great experiences with them. I like that they are running Monroe Hospital.

You'd have to be psychic to know what happened. The meeting isn't until tonight.

Wildwood city officials and Central Florida Health board members came together to break ground on the first 24-hour emergency department on State Road 44, across the street from Brownwood Paddock Square in The Villages.

The $15 million project is a joint effort between Central Florida Health, which includes Leesburg Regional and The Villages Regional and the University of Florida Health Shands.

“This is the first full-service emergency department in the Wildwood area,” Central Florida Health CEO Don Henderson said. “It’s such an important service that will serve all of The Villages and Wildwood. They will have a full lab and transport facilities to get people where they need to go.”

The free-standing building will meet the needs for the growing population by providing a middle point for patients who need medical attention or to be evaluated and transferred to either Leesburg Regional or The Villages Regional. The project is set to be completed in early 2020.

Interesting question that I hope is answered tonight.
Reference Physician recruitment- do the administrators have difficulty recruiting top notch doctors to a substandard hospital (one star CMS rating)?

No one is going to come out and say YES. That would be unrealistic to expect.

I will not be able to go to meeting, so will be interested in what is said. I know the POA will publish results of meeting, but am hoping hard questions are answered, and would like your take.

Another question would be... "how hard is it to recruit top-notch medical professionals to the middle of Central FL vs. Orlando or Tampa or another metropolitan area that has excellent entertainment options and a robust infrastructure (including shopping and restaurants).
