Their business they can do what they want. I’m surprised it wasn’t changed to village whining hospital. Better be thankful to have hospital, next maybe empty buildings like around around villages. :beer3:

UF is probably hoping that the name change will hide the reputation for poor service and inadequate health care that their hospital has delivered over the past several years.

Ratings are the ratings and will avoid it until we see something better.

The ER at 466A has done well by us

Had a scheduled surgery about a month ago.
From the time I checked in till I was escorted out after surgery I found everyone that I encountered; was professional, personable, caring and pleasant.

Had hip replacement by Dr. Williams at Village Hospital, All went great and PT at the hospital was tremendous. Great therapists and exceptional care.

Always first class service and treatment at The Villages Hospital now the UofF runs it. Same with Leesburg.

Something like the car industry.
A model sucks with recalls and poor workmanship, then the next
model year they change the name and keep producing the junk.

Somedays I say: "Stop the world, I want to get off."

I agree, but when did you get so cynical?

Bingo ! If it was a known as an outstanding medical facility, there would be NO changes in the name, you can count on that !

The Spanish Plaines Hospital is EXCELLENT

I have just spent 3 nights at this hospital and EVERYONE WAS WONDERFUL! I came in through the ER where I was registered and provided an ER room within 15 minutes. I also had to return 2 nights after my initial discharge due to an infusion site getting infected. I was registered and seen immediately that time also. I was extremely impressed with the care I received. My ER experiences were an 1,000% improvement from when I had to go there in 2017. Back then, I spent 4 hours in the waiting room beginning around 3 am. Even then my admission and stay went perfectly and the staff were attentive and friendly. What a relief that these changes have occurred in the ER I really hate when I hear/read bad-mouthing about them because I'll bet there has to be a lot of other people who had as pleasant experience as did!

The Village Hospital has such a bad reputation that a change in the name can only help. It still has a long way to go before it's in the same category as UFHealth Shands.

Skip

It’s only a name…. It doesn’t change there poor reputation. Don’t ever use their ER if you don’t have to!

ER not hospital.

It is possible that UF had a name change built in. Which wouldn’t change until the original transition was complete. Usually a 1-2 years conversion to new facility name.
