I'd advise everyone on Centurylink with this problem to call them. They're still not convinced they have a systemic problem and it's not just my router. 877-646-3282

Also, CenturyLink....I will give them a call.

Just got off the phone with CenturyLink, and they did not believe me either. It works for them, so they say it works. He said we all must have something in common..i.e. the same virus software..:cus:

Yes, we have something in common---CenturyLink!

I disabled my virus software early in my investigation of the problem--no effect. I released and renewed my ipconfig and flushed my DNS---so don't take that as an excuse either. I suspect that some switch or router or server at CenturyLink has a corrupted file, causing inability to reach certain websites, maybe those with similar IP or MAC clone addresses, but their infrastructure is beyond my expertise.

I just got off the phone with the tee time office (thevillages.net) and they are aware of the problem and have made CenturyLink aware of the problem, who they say is working on fixing it. They know the people we talk to on the phone don't get it, but assure me it is being worked on.

That makes sense---when we call CenturyLink we may get Seattle, or Boston, or Phoenix---and they don't communicate with each other, all they have to go by is their log which I doubt is cross-referenced by type of problem. But businesses with a website have a different number to call and probably better coordination of service

I escalated the problem through tech support at CenturyLink to no avail. They cannot find a problem and could only suggest that there may be some sort of "upgrade" in progress at the website that is temporarily blocking access. They said for me to monitor the situation for 24-48 hours and if it doesn't clear up, call them back.

Maybe Concast bought CenturyLink. I hate getting the brush off.

Clark Howard calls it "Customer No-Service"

Give them an "E" for effort, as well as error. That dog won't hunt since it is affecting at least 4 websites. Also, I can't get to thevillages.net on my I phone when going thru centurylink wifi, but no problem when I switch it to LTE. Consider yourself another member in the "blown off" club

A thread revisit seems appropriate.

In spite of the title of the thread, it seems the majority posting in the thread (whom prefer Comcast)...now have validation. :D

For those who are having problems...here's hoping it is soon resolved for you.
