I don't agree. I've known many people who work on commission who are also as honest as the day is long. In any case you'd still have to be breaking the law to get caught, and once caught you'd have the same rights as anyone else. If you felt you WERE innocent you could plead not guilty, go to court, and make the cop prove you broke the law.

I said some and meant some. Have gone to court after getting what I thought was an unjust ticket. Won some and lost some but it is going to cost a huge amount of time to go to court and wait your turn.

The Citizens on Patrol for Speeders will start ticketing all vehicles that exceed 20 miles per hour. The first ticket will be 25$ and second and forward will be 75$. The Cops will work off a 30% commission rate, use their own golf cars, be equipped with radar guns, sirens, and use their own phone to capture pictures. The excess funds will be used to cover equipment costs, uniforms, food banks, and psychological evaluations for repeat offenders. If your interested in becoming part of COPS please call 1-800-468-9255 on Tuesdays from 10-2. Thank You!

Hey! Why don't you "cops" put sirens and lights on your own cars and with your radar guns you could stop speeders on the roads too? You should probably start carrying guns too and have "cop" uniforms! That would be so cool! I sure would feel safer! :1rotfl:

Here’s a vote for the slow poke patrol. Ticket anyone who keeps golf carts from traveling on the MMP’s at the legal speed limit. A partial list of offenders would include other carts driving too slow, walkers not facing traffic, and bicycles that ride side by side or don’t have rear view mirrors and pull over to let approaching carts easily pass. The ticket proceeds will go into a fund to compensate golf cart drivers who are late for their t times, pickle-ball, softball, other similar activities, or dinner reservations as a result of said slow pokes. The fines will be quadrupled if any offender is staring at their cell phone while committing the offense. I think it’s a great idea, bring it on!

Not legal

Sorry, only sworn police officers have the power to write moving violations....and then only on public roads that are maintained by city, county or state.

THE VILLAGES is in control of ENOUGH things they should keep there noses out of things they can’t control!! You can’t do a buy the piece speeding ticket!! Are you kidding me. Lol get real and by who’s Authority ? if you don’t pay the speeding ticket do they get to take your golf cart keys away give me a break ,, Why don’t they start putting 4 way stops in and around the squares, you have cars a carts and thru traffic and limited line of site. Fix those problems. How about the broken section of the railing by the small bridge that was broken last year. Most of the accidents happen between golf carts and curbs , just look at the curb side you’ll see all the black, the lack of judgment of some of the operators in my opinion. PS The Villages needs to slow there contractors the frig down they fly on marsh bend trail, and while we’re on contractors they should be fined for leaving massive amount of oil and other fluids left on the street when they park on our streets doing after market work T and D been one of them. My street looks like it’s 100 years old and the run off water is killing the fish.

Massachusetts just went through a scandal with state police that were falsifying hours they worked on a federal grant to stop speeders causing a whole troop to be disbanded and many of them having criminal charges filed against them the troopers were already making over $1000 ,000 with legal overtime , in Boston we just had cops in the evidence room cheating on hours they got paid for not working , cops are not pure just because there cops

debem1@aol.com 04-02-2022 09:26 AM

Is this legal??????????
