She did say at the outset (when Jimmy noted she looked a little reluctant to be there) that she was nervous but "the people back-stage here are nicer than anywhere else in New York City". To me that clearly meant she was expecting, from experience, to be needled….needled about things that have nothing to do with her acting career...

...like the fact that her mom and grandfather are "rich" and raised her in a town that is safe and carefree for people of any age.

In these NBC interviews, I'd be pretty sure it is the writers and hosts--not Ms. Boone herself--that bring out the retirement community background and get to the subject of The Villages, where they prejudge it's nothing but old, "rich", white, righty, wrinklies.

The NBC hosts almost make more of that than her work on the television series--a role that thousands of talented, pretty young actresses would do "anything" to get, including getting lip injections that look swollen like they got a million bee stings, or grotesque DDD implants that swell up to the shoulders in front. Her natural beauty without false eyelashes etc. is enviable to those who'd do anything to have her role.

Nicely said. She seems to be handling stuff quite well IMHO.

Hate to break it to you all, most people have never heard of TV, GM or her mother. If growing up in a retirement community continually comes up it's because she somewhere along the way put it in her bio. Since then she has her own accomplishments, she should drop it.

On her own she has landed a spot on a hit show, she spent 13 years to get where she is, I don't think it had anything to do with family connections. If the family pulled strings it wouldn't have taken 13 years.

Hollywood is mostly Democrats. I would expect that being from the richest family from the Villages which also calls various shots in FL and national Republican politics would work against her towards her family pulling strings. There are various well connected Republicans in Hollywood but I do not see them behind the career of Megan Boone. She has worked very hard to get where she is now IMHO. And these shows like Blacklist are usually about ratings which has very little to do with politics.

More likely if the family pulled string she would be in Washington.

By the way she is the family, her estimated worth is way over $200M.

Hate to break it to you, but TV is very well known because of the Romney-Ryan campaign sessions here in 2012 and the media helped it be known as the mecca of only old, rich, white righties.

Even thou her family is rich, she attended and graduated from public school. She is very sophisticated and wholesome, and a real Lady. And, I find it really pathetic that some senior citizens could call her a "vapid little fool"

Again, I agree. I fail to understand the animosity toward this lovely young lady. She did not portray TV negatively, so why not simply wish her the best and move on?

Really? Say "rich" to most people and TV is nowhere on the list. Let's see, we have Scarsdale, Sagaponeck, McLean, Darien, Lake Forest, Malibu, TV, Boca Point, Palm Beach. Yep, they all say "Rich" to me. (Just so you all know, I've never heard anyone with money use that word unless they are describing their dessert.)

In response to other comments, I never said she was a "vapid little fool", I said she came across as a vapid little fool-there is a world of difference. I don't know the girl, I'm assuming none of you do either.

I still stand by my statement that she could use a little polish, guess Belleview High School dropped the ball on this one.:1rotfl:

Thanks for sharing. Let me say my husband and I really enjoy the Blacklist and actors in it, however that interview was really painful to watch on so many levels.
I do think over time she will improve her interviewing skills she's a lovely young woman.
