Totally agree, rates right up there with those who don’t read previous posts and repeat same answers over an over.

On topic, I didn’t think losing the center aisle would be a big deal, until I forgot ice tea, what a pain. I just don’t understand why they put items in multiple places.

More reasons why to not go to Walmart. 1st time I was in one of their stores, felt like I was at an auditon for a Jerry Springer show. Worst check out counters/system in any store.

Makes one wonder how they do such a huge business

All these ideas come from upper management/marketing folks. The same folks that never go shopping.

Think it simply boils down to saving money. Since it's the biggest grocery retailer in the country, they are doing something right.

There are a number of items we like to buy there so we go and stock up and try not to come back for a month.

The new walmart checkout system at Heald is annoying. I had to notify the clerk on 2 separate occasions where it charged me double for an item. And I don't even hold it there long, I wait for the beep and move it on, but it caught the upc code a 2nd time in both instances.

Plus someone mentioned that they remodeled and in typical walmart fashion they move things around every 6 months to get people to buy more when looking around. Otherwise shoppers like me just go straight to the stuff we want in less time and they can't have that. An old supermarket ploy that they love to use. But I'll still go back shopping there.

Maybe next time they'll have a less chaotic express checkout line and shoppers will know where to stand, not like how it was the last time I was there. They had a hand drawn "line starts here" sign for express checkouts that customers could hardly see so 2 clerks standing by the aisles were directing people waiting at different spots to line up by the sign. Cue the line from Charlton Heston in Planet of the Apes: "It's a madhouse!!! A mad-houuuuusse!!!!" :MOJE_whot: :faint:

The new self service cash registers are super sensitive as noted above. Be careful that you don’t get charged twice for same item. The good news is you can remove the duplicate charge yourself, you don’t have to call over an employee.

Thanks, will try that! :a040:

I used to go there all the time. I have to have "gluten free" and they carried the items. BUT then I also would shop at Aldi as well as Publix for items Walmart Market didn't carry. I was ill this past winter and spring so ordered online from Kroger. LOVED it!! Once I was back to going to a brick and mortar store, I pretty much stopped W.M. as mentioned earlier---their parking lot stunk and I refuse to do self-service. IF you went early in the day (to miss the crowds) they "might" have had one lane open for folks like me. I haven't been there in months. Yes, Publix is a bit pricier but I can do ALL my shopping with them. I might have to go back with Kroger for it's convenience. Haven't tried them since the prices hiked up though.
As for folks hi-jacking social media threads. MOST don't scroll to read the past comments and others always feel they need to comment no matter what, even if it's off topic.

Use the scan gun on everything in the cart. Then bag. Much faster, less mistakes

Went there today. Typically go for a number of things every 6 days or so. The new changes are a PITA. Always talk to others in line at selfcheck. 90% always agree.

I’m fine with change and all. But the numerous self checks, crowded aisles and tall shelves kind of stink. Compared to B4… I wonder how they have security on all the self checks. Wizard of oz in back…

Wait until the the SBs are back in force. Really don’t know what else they’re doing, the fence etc is still up.

Oh well.

Yeah a lady working there was informing people of that the next time I was there. I heard her showing a guy how to do it.

But here's an update: Went there on Sunday morning and as I was quickly passing an item for scanning I got charged double. Had to wait for help, as I couldn't figure out how to remove the dupe charge. Error message said worker is being called. When she finally got to me she said they removed the cancel dupe charge feature because people were using it to steal. Wow! So much for that feature. She also mentioned that when you use the scanner gun it never dupes a charge. So I tried that and everything was fine the rest of the way.

So for those shopping at Heald Wally's... use the scan gun over your items. Makes it easier and faster, and with less chance of having a reason to stand around waiting for help.
