Default The Villages Regional Hospital

Can anyone tell me alittle about the hospital? I work in health care and would like to get some idea about the place. Someone awhile back posted something on the lines of not liking to work there.

Any comments?

I've worked there a year and it is a good little hospital but we are not a level one trauma. The hospital is tripling in size so there are some construction problems right now with elevators shut off, X-Ray rooms being closed and alarms being checked. The pay is not east coast big city.....but it isn't So. Georgia either. They hospital does TRY hard to make it a good working environment.....20 hrs /wk for nurses and you can get health insurance. The insurance is good....colonoscopy was $100 total. We get constant reminders that Y'All are customers first and have a choice of hospitals. Due to our customers base expectations all our equipment is new and top of the line (or very close) so the quality of care is very good. I think it is a nice place to work while waiting for retirement to come.

I'll be there in a few years as an RN. I can only imagine that with the growth of TV expected to move towards 100,000 by 2012, the hospital will be jumping. The pay may not be what i make in Boston but i can drive my golf cart (or scooter like the doc in Scrubs!) to work in the winter - how cool is that? It's all about lifestyle!

I would think Leesburg is the nearest level 1?

I'm a retired RN who is having minor day surgery at The Villages hospital in Oct. I'll let you know how it goes!

Where is the Stroke Center I hear about. Is it Leesburg? Which hospital?

Villager99: If one went to TV hospital with a stroke, would they send you to Leesburg Regional by ambulance or treat you at TV?
