The chips in the mirror are cloned to be the exact same chips as those in the card. If your card still works, your mirror chip will work...

An article in the Sun several weeks ago discussed TV has outgrown the capacity of the current gate system. They are getting ready to install a new system and one of the issues is to deactivate the capacity to clone cards.

It is my understanding that the The Villages is changing the gate systems. So, do t bother.

Just put the gate card the Villages gave you behind your drivers mirror. I've been doing it that way for years. Long before they were cloning the chips. And it costs you nothing.

Some cars have a groove on the door just inside the driver window where you can place the card. It will operate the gate reader and not interfere with the operation of the window. You can cover the card with black paper to make almost invisible.

If the current cards will work with the new system, they will not be able to stop cloned chips from working.

The only way to do that is go to an entirely different type of system that doesn't use RFID cards...

Mine still works. I had Tri Line Services put mine in my side mirror. Call 217-433-1394. It works on most of the gates. He told me that some gates are higher than others and it might not work. Happened on one gate that is not near where I live. Love it.

Don't such cards create a security risk? Any scum bag with the required $15-25 would be allowed to drive around your neighborhood. This needs to be changed.
