Please keep us informed when Aldi contacts you about the problem with the store manager. I think most of us would like to know how corporate responds to this problem.

shopping at aldis is like shopping at dollar general....you get what you pay for as the saying goes!

If the amount of money involved would cause them to call the police and have you arrested then it is a big deal in my book. I will be very careful at ALDI and by the way, these vendors are not the nice local retailers of old.

They pay their employees very well and are a demanding employer. IMO it's largely a cultural thing.

AFA this particular incident, who really knows? Have you ever had a bad day or made a mistake? I don't think it rises to the level of "warning" needed. If anyone thinks there's a conspirancy afoot, don't shop there. Geez!

Most stores, when they make a mistake like that, will honor the lower price. I don't think it's a conspiracy, but if they were very busy doing their jobs, the incorrect price wouldn't have been up there to begin with. So it should be their loss. How much does a dollar count against customer good will?

I think Publix is better than Aldi's.
But I have to confess, the ambiance and product presentation at Fresh Market makes it appealing.

Wow, this is rally strange a manager would ever address the situation the way you describe. If true, it's sad, very sad and that manager should be fired. Sounds as though you might have a case of a manager with RIP disease (retired in place) the worst kind to work for, which could explain why and where employee attitude issues originate. It might be (hopefully) just a case of one bad manager apple causing the entire store behavior problems.

It'll be interesting and telling to see ALDI's response. It might have been helpful to photo that sign & package pricing. If this is a systemic ALDI issue, they'll be run out of business I assure you.

I know we have shopped at ALDIs elsewhere, and while some have described the brands as "off brands" incorrectly, much of what you might see there (labels) are from other countries and frankly sometimes better than we were used to. We we always constantly surprised with how little we paid. They are NOT a Dollar General with distressed merchandise, but an efficient and alternate product provider.

I love Fresh Market and have never had the problem with overcharging or stale product. But that can (and does) happen anywhere. I once bought some pop for $1.99, and it rang up at 11.99 (large chain grocery). It's a data input error. They're not trying to gouge you.

However... while there isn't a whole vanilla bean to be had in the TV area except at Fresh market, they don't carry everyday items like TP and paper towels, etc. And Winn Dixie doesn't carry everything Publix does, and vice-versa. So like Madeleine, I'm all over the place shopping for the things we like. But it's okay. I'm retired and have the time.

I shopped at Aldi's this morning and there's a sign in the store that says: "If you are dissatisfied with any product, we will replace it and refund your money." So you would get the item for free.

If someone has a problem with a cashier or manager, I think it would most likely be on the evening shift. The evening shift is a time when new employees get their training.

Correction: There is one bottle of whole vanilla beans in the new Winn Dixie at Pinellas. Or rather, there was...
