Don't get LG unless you get a extended ], MFG Warranty or one from the Place of Purchase ie: Lowe's, Best Buy or Home Depot because others might have an issue

Try Costco on-line. They have a large selection from which to choose.
They install the new one, take away the old one and add an extra year to the warranty, giving you 2 years. They also offer an addition 3 years priced reasonably.

That being said, if you have a little DIY in you, you can remove the agitator or impeller (either of which your washer has). One plastic cap and one screw. Once removed look and see if there's anything there that doesn't belong, like a coin, or in my case, a little metal button. If you have something there that may be the problem and removing it may solve the problem. If there's nothing there I'd recommend buying a new unit as you could wind up replacing the stator, rotor, gearcase/transmission and maybe even the tub. Been there, done that. Mine was under warranty (the 2nd Costco year) so they replaced everything - 4 visits. Long story but the apprentice repairman messed up the repair (stator and rotor) so it went from a slight grinding noise, to an overwhelming grinding noise (stator) to a loud base drumming noise during the spin cycle which was the tub. Another stator and tub finally corrected the subsequent issues. 9 months later it's still quiet as a mouse. I'm convinced the metal button was causing the initial grinding noise but they wanted to replace other parts. Who was I to object?

My advice, put new jeans in with the whites on the first load and you will never do laundry again.

Truth we were married for years. I thought I was getting away with something and convinced her I do not know how to run was. She told me she does not know how to run a lawn mower. I had some surgery. Go figure she started the mower and did a good job on the lawn. After the stitches were out, she no longer knew how to run the lawnmower.

You were dealing with a transport company, a trucker. That paper they asked, demanded, you sign is called a bill of lading. When you sign a clean bill of lading you are saying all is fine. Dishonorable-sometimes. But, it can be on the other side as well.
People damage the product and CLAIM it arrived that way. Explaining not defending anyone.

There are front loader and top loader washing machines and dryers. As no one has a basement; I so miss mine, storage is limited. In our laundry room, I put in a storage rack. Thus, we have top loaders. A front loader, not sure if we even have room to open the door in any case it would be limited space.

Thanks. I agree. But my point is that Lowes didn't require the form, they agreed to only deliver the appliance during the day, and they gave me 30 days to return the appliance if I noticed a defect. That was a way better deal than Home Depot offered. In checking the Lowes current website, they now require the appliance to be returned within 3 days. But, that is plenty of time to notice a cosmetic defect. For Home Depot to expect a customer to fully inspect a product for defects and accept it immediately when it is delivered in the dark, is unacceptable. I bought the appliances in the Home Depot retail store, not from a trucking company.

I bought a GE washer and it has been a wonderful machine. Did not replace dryer as I have finally come to grips in my old age that I don’t need matching appliances.
