Yes, it is free. However, as you walk out, note that there is a charity contribution box on the wall on your left. I don't recall the charity, but I always leave $5. So, I paid $5 for a new battery instead of $10 - everybody wins.

WalMart jewelry dept. will do it. But I do my own. Seriously look at the people that it, most of them don’t look like they can pump their own gas in their car. It’s so easy that your grandchildren could probably do it for you!

A lot (most?) WalMarts no longer do this, alas.

But you need the right tools, and some watches are not easily opened or resealed. Better to have it done. I used to have watches where I could do it, years ago. I still change my own watch straps.

There's a jewelry store a few doors down from the Bonefish Grill at Brownwood. Don't remember their name. They will put in new batteries while you wait.

The Bonefish Grill is not in Brownwood.

They probably meant "Bluefin"...

That doesn’t surprise me but the last time I had someone do it for me was WalMart, so if your thinking about letting a jewelry store do it you better ask, “How Much”, most people I’m sure it won’t make any difference. Watch batteries last for 5 to 7 to 8 yrs. I’ll keep spending 10 mins. & do my own I put the best $6. battery in it. I do understand some people couldn’t do it or don’t think it’s worth it!
