In defense of some of us it is hard to do that when we have 3 & 4 cyclists side by side taking up the whole lane up to the center line on some of the traffic circles.

I love to bike myself but I also keep the rules of the road as required to by the law as a biker.

Let’s ALL keep the rules and not think that if you ride a bike you are except from the jaws of the road.

I have cyclist cut me off at gates because they go around the gate to keep from stopping and cut in front of me.

Let’s all play safe and be nice to each other and respect life.

Enjoy a safe ride today.

Dog poop, Roundabouts, speeding carts, parking, lawn ornaments, trolls, and bikes all “exciting” threads and posts…

IMHO 9 out of ten Villages drivers can't even stay in the same lane they enter a RB without crossing into the other's lane of travel! If you are too old to drive and stop, not speed, and can't see 100 ft in front of you, please get someone else to drive you! But, don't blame your bad driving on cyclists.

I don't think the person who posted that was blaming cyclists for bad car driving habits. He was blaming cyclists for their bad and often dangerous driving habits. Not all cyclists, of course, but I'm still laughing at a post from about a month ago by a cyclist who explained he doesn't stop because it interferes with his "pedal cadence":1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: Of course I doubt he realizes that a funeral procession walks to a cadence as well.....

Agree everyone tries to blame the other guy when in reality we are all a bit guilty

Right now sunset is not until after 7pm, so I don't see your point.

No but I almost never see a golf cart honor a stop sign!

Let's recap, shall we?

All car drivers suck...

All golf cart drivers suck...

All bicyclists suck...

Unless, of course, it's me (or you) who is doing the car driving/cart riding/bicycle pedaling...

Carry a Buggy whip

Going into Paddock Square, I was in the right lane at the corner of the theater when that same Gray SUV was in the left lane and then just drifted in front of me again. I presume this was a snowbird or someone new to the Villages as I have not seen this since last winter. I applaud the regular car and truck drivers for their courteousness whenever I am on the road. The person driving the Gray SUV was not one of them. Please, Please, watch out for bicyclists and do not race around them as if you are a fire truck on a run. Look and signal before you change lanes to warn others.

You should carry a buggy whip and when they get too close give the car a good wack!
Driver’s around here are scary stupid.

The legal term for that action is "assault"

Always something

I stopped riding during the day. I ride at night with 6 front lights so I can be seen. Still cars and carts pull out in front of me, even Community Watch drivers pull out in front. I have also a Go Pro to record my ride. All because of poor drivers.
And oh if you don't like my lights following you pull over and let me pass.

I used to ride my bike around 4:30 AM and 5 AM. Much safer.

I think a lot of stop signs in TV should actually be YIELD signs.
Some of the stop signs here are ridiculous.

I once heard of a policeman stopping someone for doing a rolling stop.
The policeman told him he ran the stop sign and the man told the officer he slowed down. The officer told him to get out then started beating him with his night stick.
The officer then said now do you want me to slow down or stop.

When driving my car, I put bike riders in the same classification as "picnic ants".

So you ride a bike but feel bike riders are like picnic ants? WTH??

But I also overheard a golfer at a golf course parking area telling his buddies how he had clipped the handle bars of a bicycle while passing it and sent the bicyclist flying into the shrubs. He was laughing as he was telling his story as if it wasn't a dangerous act. But there is always someone who disregards the safety of others.

Sounds like leaving the scene of an accident to me.

It's that sense of entitlement these rude drivers have. If I want to do something I will and the hell with the rest of you. I've driven like this all my life and I'm not going to change. It's my world and I allow you live in it, the hell with you.

They honor the stop signs when I am on the road.

When I am leaving Osceola Hills, I cross a multi-modal path that sometimes has golf carts or bikes on it, and they have a stop sign. Since I have the right-of-way, I just proceed at my usual speed.

I do not look out for the bikes or golf carts on the MMP, so if they do not stop at the stop sign I would have probably hit a few of them.

Since I have never hit one, I guess that proves that they all stop when they are suppose to, at least when I am driving.

I love bike riding and have had a few scary situations on the roads near my house recently. I tend to bike less when it gets more busy during the winter months.

I do most of my riding in big groups for safety. Still, overall it’s way way better than most places for riding

Yes----rude car drivers, rude cart drivers AND rude cyclists.

When someone does that to me, I try to be helpful by adding to their vocabulary.

You have it backwards - you bicyclists need to look out for us drivers.

We were driving down Lowell in Tamarind Grove when a man on a Segway blew right through the stop sign at the corner of Lowell and Newburn. Behind him was a female also on a Segway (on the wrong side of the street) who then stopped since we had slammed on the brakes for her friend. So watch out for Segways ignoring the traffic rules too.
