Found water leak after stepping on ill-fitting lid of plastic protective box housing water pipes from street to our house and neighbors and water sqished out. Called utility number for water and trash. He said wrong box was installed initially and they would replace it after pipe repaired. It was collapsing and the lid didn't fit, thin plastic walls, pipe broken on our side. Our plumber found box resting on our pipe so neighbors heavy lawn cutter's mower eventually caused it to crack. Plumber said wrong strength of threaded connector was used: 60 not 80 along with wrong housing box. We then called for the new box to be installed, looks like a corrugated thick rubber. Please everyone check your water pipes, not irrigation, boxes. If you also have the wrong box, call the utility people and get it changed free of charge and avoid a $350 plumbing bill. Also ask for a form for some compensation on your water bill!

Did you call the Villages warranty department? If the house is less than 2 years old, I think the repair should have been made under the plumbing systems warranty.
