Default Water soft

Any suggestions on getting rid of rinse water from a water softener? Can’t get into a drain line w/o a lot of pain. Thanks...

We had to have a type of french drain installed when we installed our water softener. Contact a licensed plumber for a suitable solution. It is my understanding you cannot run to the street and drain, and you cannot drain to the drains in the house. I also found this to be very confusing 5 years ago when we did this.

Hello, so you just ran a french drain buried under the yard right?

Thanks for replying

Yes, basically, the plumber dug a "french drain", then installed a plastic roof over it, and then inserted the drain from the water softener, so that there was an AIR GAP between the french drain and the drain line from the water softener, this is very important. Then the area above the plastic cover was buried with several inches of earth and ground cover. This cost about $600 as I recall, including the plumbing connections to the water softener.
