Masks haven't been as effective as they should be simply because there are too many people who are resistant to wear them properly or wear them at all. We never had a chance here in America to get to the point that this virus would be over. Sad really.

Just hope your luck holds out.

I will not be sucked back, even though I have both vaccinations. I will wear a mask and social distance when I can. I will not eat indoor at restaurants, and I will not go to events that do not require CDC compliances.
How did you know they was in the villages? If you’re referring to the online N-ws site they most always say in area which may include 1 of three counties in villages or all of them?

Well????? IMO there no actual proof the napkin mask actually prevent anything. They may reduce odds in certain situations which IMO better than nothing. Now n95 or better mask if worn properly probably does better job. Other countries have more control and restrictions than USA, some are isolated with lot less population so there effectiveness is higher. China actually locked people in there apartments for Months. In free world that would never happen. Utube NTD china in focus.

Or possibly, or even probably, the masks that most people are wearing are not effective against the virus and they have an unfounded sense of safety.

Mass media alone without additional research and confirmation are dangerous to society.

So now you’re saying that if we all wore masks properly, we could have ended the virus in America?!?
Funny, but didn’t you post this earlier today: “Of course the Universal masking and social distancing request was to slow the spread. No one ever said wearing masks would eradicate the virus.” 🤯🤯🤯

Oh my. I have posted many videos of how home made and store bought surgical masks are very effective for source control. Have you not seen any videos which demonstrate the usefullness of Universal masking? Been there. Done that. Not going to post any more. It is up to you to do the research now. Have fun watching those infra red cameras spelling it out for your eyes to see.

Good luck!

Yes, that was my post. How did you find that? I don't even remember which thread I posted that in. It isn't this one because I just checked.

Getting back to the business at hand.........What I believe I said was we would not be in this mess of a pandemic if EVERYONE wore masks and ALWAYS distanced from others. I do not believe I said "we could have ended the virus in America". Those are your words, not mine.

I'm not that naive to think this virus would or could have been eradicated by universal masking and distancing. Having said that, I truly believe we in America would be in a much better place at this time having a much better outcome than we have so far with this pandemic if everyone had followed the CDC guidelines from the get go. That is water under the bridge now and the collective attitude of many Americans will not allow us to pull ourselves out of this dreadful mess me are in. All my opinion, of course.

In addition, IMHO, it is embarrassing for us on the world stage, as Americans, to have fared so poorly with managing this pandemic. I'm very thankful for the vaccines which will allow us to see some semblance of normalcy in the future. We could not have done it without those life saving vaccines.

Well, we are much better than..

Belgium
Italy
UK
Portugal

etc.

It's not the numbers. At a population of 332 Million we are going to have more actual cases. But, using mortality, as in deaths per million, we are at number 10.

Coronavirus Update (Live): 113,635,332 Cases and 2,521,112 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer

The vaccine does not equal immunity. It only increases the odds that if and when you contract C-19 you won't die from it. We're going to be wearing face diapers for years. If not C-19, it'll be something else.

With all the notice and warning the USA had, you should have been nowhere near the top of the list.
As for the UK, we, as usual, just F-upped with big time dithering in the initial stages, but lets face it, everyone is a genius with hindsight!
