Great news!! We accepted an offer on our home today after some challenging negotiations.

The next step is a home inspection followed by a bank appraisal. I expect that both will go well.

Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations. :mademyday:

I love it when a plan comes together. Best Wishes for a successful closing.

CONGRAT. This is wonderful news. Not sure if you have heard the expression of things happen in threes. Well you have the best news. Happy days are coming your way. Keep us posted....

Update. Don't mean to divert the thread.

Been on the market ten days. Have had seven showings. Second showing last night stayed two hours. Have another different person looking today at noon.

The cats are getting a lot of rides in the car!

natickdan 06-07-2011 06:33 AM

The average showing may take 10-20 minutes. Having someone stay 2 hours screams out that they are interested. That's positive!

I know it's a challenging pain in the butt to show your home when you have animals, Graciegirl. It's a necessary evil, however. We have an 11 year old dog that is 135 pounds and he has arthritis. Getting him out of the house for a car ride was challenging, but it helped created a better home showing.

Hang in there, Gracie, and make certain to let us know when you have an offer.

The one that stayed two hours is definititely a good sign they will make an offer.

Expect an offer shortly. I hope it's acceptable. :)

Great news, hope it all comes together. We put our house on the market last Friday and the first showing is today.

Only good can come of this!

I'm so happy for you. You are always first to wish everyone else well - I just feel it in my bones that an offer is on the way!
Our doggie also has gotten lots of car rides and walks over the last 3 wks for showings!

Selling a home in today's market is clearly a challenging endeavor. We accepted less than 3 weeks after the house went on the market. Now we're so close to executing our plan but we have to sweat out the tests/inspections (septic system, water, radon and the overall home).

To date, we're okay on the septic system inspection. Wednesday is the home inspection. If we pass that, we will go to contract and close on August 31 and then spend another month here in Connecticut as I work my final month. We hope to be back in our Buttonwood home in mid-October.

Gracie, may you receive the offer you deserve and may we pass our remaining inspections.

I'm looking forward to our permanent return.

Congrats, future neighbor! What street will you be on? (We're on Buttonwood Run.) Hope all the rest goes smoothly.

A quick update. We have address the issues identified from the home inspection. Fortunately, the radon test passed and that was an area we were concerned with.

Last Tuesday the P&S was executed and the bank appraisal was performed. We will get the appraisal results later this week. The appraisal is the final roadblock to closing, so we are on pins and needles waiting. Hopefully those "pins and needles" will translate to celebration by next weekend.

Thanks for all the positive responses and lets hope my next update will be a positive one.

Dan, hope it all works out with the appraisal!

Bill :)
