I'm 50 and my wife is 54. we've been here for one year and we both love it. Sure there are some issues with living here, but I have yet to live anywhere where there were not some things that were not "perfect."
When we originally moved here we thought we were retired (we sold our business), but after a few months of living here my wife decided she missed being a nurse and she went back to work at the local hospital. I lasted almost a year and I decided that I missed teaching so I just recently took on teaching a few classes at the College of Central Florida. We have friends here from their early 50s to their late 70s, we belong to several clubs, we work out at the gym regularly and love taking day trips to the surrounding areas. We feel we made the right decision for us. |

I would say it isn't your age that will make it hard for you to fit in, but more the fact that you have the question in the first place. If your perceived "young age" is that much of a concern, then it will matter to you. It is like the song says "Come back when you grow up, girl!" But then that isn't a song from the 80's, either! |
My wife and I are in your age group and I don't feel out of place at all. You can be as active as you want and on the whole I agree that you won't find a nicer group of people anywhere. My vote...come on down!

I agree with several other posters that you should rent in TV for a few months -- take a test drive so to speak. Maybe rent in a couple of different villages if that is possible for you to do. I am a couple of months shy of 52, but after visiting TV a few times now I would move to TV tomorrow if I didn't have to work for awhile :(
