Weather Warnings
Yesterday and today, my weather radio has alerted us to a severe thunderstorm warning for Sumter county. In neither case, did I receive an alert from the Sumter County Code Red system.
This isn't the first time it hasn't called. Is anyone else getting the alerts??? |

Same looking storm line as yesterday. Unlike yesterday, today it is slipping south of Mallory so far.
I also have had no alerts on my phone. |

An even better site which shows not only the cells but it labels them and shows (in the table underneath) the percent chance of hail, severe hail, storm height, speed etc.
The one problem is that the limit of this particular radar is the middle of TV in Sumter county. But worth a look for weather buffs: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/ra...=9999&smooth=1 |

I'm in Scotland and my I pod touch went off. I have Weather Radio Alert on it and it's gone off for Sumter County area...thunderstorm watch. Code Red doesn't ring for watches. I've just looked at my Wesh Weather alert page and that, too, has issued a watch and not warning for Sumter County. Lake County has a severe thunderstorm warning. Of course, you guys and gals are there so you're more up to date on what's going on.
Stay safe.

I use all of the sites mentioned at times. The Weather Channel has a neat feature in that you can add your street address, which really tells you how close the path is. Not sure intellicast can do that.
Go to this link and then click on "Your address" or "Go to a new location" link http://www.weather.com/weather/map/i...FL+32162?role= Nothing like some good weather map talk |

Sounds like it may be a good idea to re-enroll in Sumter County's alert system!
Yesterday one severe thunderstorm warning on my weather radio (after it'd been storming overhead for at least 15 minutes!). But, no phone call. Today (so far) two weather radio warnings, but no phone call! I almost never use my cell phone, but I'm betting there are several messages there; I'll check it out later! Good to have the rain. Just wish it would rain gently all day. Don't like warnings! SWR
