Yesterday one severe thunderstorm warning on my weather radio (after it'd been storming overhead for at least 15 minutes!). But, no phone call.

Today (so far) two weather radio warnings, but no phone call!

I almost never use my cell phone, but I'm betting there are several messages there; I'll check it out later!

Good to have the rain. Just wish it would rain gently all day. Don't like warnings!

I still show a watch for Sumter County, but now a Warning for Marion County. Looking at the web cam of the town squares shows now rain...drat.

I'm not sure exactly what the criteria for a Code Red is. Maybe it's for tornado warnings and not thunderstorm warnings?

Pooh.... Let us worry about the weather in TV. You should be enjoying a good bottle of scotch about now...

Enjoy......

The only thing I've received recently was a cell call this evening from the weather warning dealie-do - 8:10 p.m. I go to the weather radar..........to find out the storm was pretty much already through the area.

Quite a thunder, lightning, and hail storm here on the South end tonight. In the past 5 minutes saw two firetrucks heading south on Morse down below Mallory gate at O'Dell. Anything happening down there in the southern end of TV???? Some wicked cloud to ground lightning strikes were visible to the South.

Oops, make that 3 fire trucks...another went by and now hear one more. Yikes.

Stay safe....

Update.... 2 of the firetrucks just headed back North on Morse followed by 3 of the chief/staff vehicles all with sirens blaring. Handling multiple incidents????

Default lightning

Last night at about 8 PM our house in El Cortez was hit by lightning! Ouch....it went right thru electric panel, now have hole in attic over garage roof, waiting for electrician so we can turn power back on. Fast response by Lake County fire dept. 8 trucks, lots of personnel. No flames, lots of smoke.
Happened just as we were about to turn on TV to watch the Bruins crush the Canucks ! Saw the last period in hotel room.
Ah, but it's another beautiful day in The Villages !
Listen to the warnings.

WOW. Glad you are ok, hope all others are also! Would have scared the **** out of me. The odds of a home being hit by lightning in TV is probably about the same as the Bruins winning a Stanley Cup (coming from lifelong B's fan). Wonder what the odds are of both happening last night

Do not hesitate to share the experience, I for one am curious as these storms always make me a bit nervous without the sanctuary of my basement back in MA.
