It will probably become a major hurricane soon. Still a question as to if it will just turn back into Atlantic or hit the US. Has the potential to be a cat 4 or 5. Follow @RyanMaue on twitter to get good info on hurricanes... it what he does for a living

The latest 15-day spectral transform model run from the NWS continues the trend of heading north and potentially hitting NY or New England. However, that is 8-9 days out and the skill levels are not very good that far into the future. Still, the best bet is that it will be curving north and not be an issue for the Southeast US. The 216 hour forecast valid 18z Sunday Sept 10 has a direct hit on NYC. It is too early to get all excited as accurate solutions are typically available 3-4 days out.
