Nothing had changed yesterday at the site until I realized that there was a post put up to show that the inspector had been by. I had a call from my neighbor this morning telling me that they already have five rows of blocks up and they are working like crazy...so i need to get over there and take some pictures today.

The blocks were up just like my neighbor said, but nothing has happened since. I went by the site today and saw that the inspector came by today, so they were obviously waiting for the inspection before doing anything more. Hope to see some more action out there tomorrow!

Good Morning Dizz....
JeanneBeannie~
Thanks for your well-wishes! Actually, we're still in the fixin' up stage with our house here in PA. We hope to get a Market Analysis near the end of October. Our thinking is do inside spiffing up (paint, etc) during the winter and then list in the spring. That way, WHEN it sells (notice I said WHEN!), we will be coming to TV closer to the summer months. Like SSchuler1's, that's when we will decide if we want pre-owned, a model or to build new. Don't want to pay a lot in rent when that could possibly be my Roman Shower money! I don't want to hijack this thread but since I'm new to these forums, would love to hear how your TV adventure started. Is there a TOTV link for when it began? [/QUOTE] I'm sorry Dizz I am just seeing your post now. Spiffing up the inside with a fresh coat of paint is always a good idea, but dont go too crazy spending too much moola...remember your roman shower . I had the whole exterior painted, and I painted alot myself etc., and not only did the buyers take a chunk out of my asking price they are having it sided as soon as they move in . But hey...thats okie at least I sold it right? And now I can move to TV!! As far as hearing about how my TV adventure started, you would have to read over 400 boring posts of mine lol...I will PM you. Its not all that exciting, but it sure is now yeehaaww!!! |

The plumbers were out there yesterday laying the pipes, and when we went by today they had filled in with dirt and were tamping it down getting ready for the pouring of the foundation. Hopefully we will see the foundation going down tomorrow. 56 days to go!!!
We moved into a 2 bedroom villa yesterday...good-bye to the cell.

Furniture
We bought the whole house furniture from Kanes in Ocala and were very happy with it - despite some bad press on the internet. We only had a problem with 2 items (slight scratch on a glass table top) and something else that I cannot remember now. They replaced them immediately so I cannot complain about them at all.
The reason we didn't spend money with Rooms to Go was that they wanted to charge a delivery charge for each "room" of furniture that was delivered - even though it was all going on the same truck! Kanes only had one charge for everything. Also something was said way back in the threads about dark furniture. When we had our original home in Chadwick Villas we bought medium coloured wooden furniture because it was what we are used to in England. However, when the furniture was installed it made the rooms look so much smaller. It seemd to bring the walls in, if you know what I mean. This time we have opted for lighter furniture and glass topped coffee tables, hall tables, dining table and kitchen bistro table and everything seems to make the rooms look much bigger. Having said that the house is bigger than we originally had too but the whole effect is much more spacious. Hope this helps. |

The foundation got poured and they started putting up the exterior walls yesterday. They even have the rafters and tar paper at the property, so I would think they might put up the roof today! It's starting to look like a house!!!!

They got the rest of the plywood up on the roof today, and put the tar paper on as well. The hurricane ties are secured. Should be ready for siding pretty soon. Can't wait to see a few interior walls going up!

Just curious - are you taking pictures every day? When we moved into our house in Naples and hubby needed to hang some blinds, he wasn't sure what was behind the drywall and how exactly the windows were framed. Luckily they were still building homes down the street, so we were able to run down and take pictures of walls before the windows went in. Also, we had some friends stop by periodically and take some pictures. It's a good reference to know what's behind the drywall!
After 4 1/2 years here, it's amazing to see how much the landscaping has filled in. After one season, it looks like it's been there forever! I hope you're enjoying this ride. It sure took a long time, but you finally made it! Enjoy!

Yes, we are taking pics every day. I'm taking the fun pictures, and my hubby is obsessively taking the pics of everything going behind the walls. My husband was a carpenter at one time, so he knows all that stuff. We were wondering how long it would take for the landscaping to grow tall for some privacy in the back. Glad to hear it only takes about 4 years!

OMG, I can't believe how much they got done today. The shingles are now on the roof, the windows and doors went in today too. The heating and cooling guys were out and starting to install the air ducts. The kitchen island is framed in with wood. The bathtub is installed in the 2nd bathroom. The plumbing was installed for both showers, the refrigerator and laundry room. All the interior walls are now framed in, and they have the ceiling insulation sitting in the living room ready to go up. It's getting exciting now!
