Fireboy and I played El Santiago today with the beeeeg golf holes and still had difficulty getting the ball in the hole.
Note to self: If you haven't played golf for six months, best not to golf with others for a while.
I wonder if it's best to hit balls at the driving range, practice putting, or take lessons.
(I already know the answer - all of the above).

Sunday is couple's golf for us . My bride and I tied our best friends thus we retained the trophy from last week. Off to our house for the usual Sunday feast. Started with Manhattans made with a smooth Canadian whiskey and a french vermouth with just a dash of northern New York amber maple syrup from our local Mennonite neighbors up north. Hors DE Orv's with our drinks consisted of a smoked pepperoni we hand carried back from northern NY made by our local Mennonite meat market. It's more like a super sod - to die for. Some very aged provolone cheese, sliced cooked polish sausage, roasted peppers in virgin olive oil over Ritz type cracker. A homemade Greek salad with lots of feta cheese and hot baked garlic cheese bread sticks. Choice of moscato or lambrusco for the main beverage. Entree was lemon marinated (24 hours) chicken that I seared this morning on the grill at 8 AM then finished in the oven by baking just until the pink was gone - oh so moist. This was served over a bed of linguine fini el dente smothered with lemon basil cream alfredo sauce. We paused there and had an aperitif of our first batch of homemade limoncello this year. We then moved on to desert - mini chocolate eclairs and mini bitter chocolate carmels with sea salt. Ended with a demitasse of espresso and a smigit of anisette. Man can my bride cook. On my way to the square to walk some of this off. It doesn't get any better than this.

10 mile bike ride after coffee and toast, wife went to see her horse, I washed car. Went to Lowes for a new hose, walked the craft show, stopped at World of beer for a cold one. Went to pool for a while. Now going to friends for dinner.

Golfed Velushia and Turtle Mound and needed my destressing medicine because I had trouble with topping the ball. Sat on back lanai and saw a herd of coyotes with monkeys on their backs ride past all the lanais. They were whooping and a hollering and I didn't have time to yell at them much less look them in the eye which I hear is the worst thing you could with a monkey and also the best thing you could do with a coyote.

Been there - done that. Reminds me of CCR "Looking Out My Back Door"
My lanai is on the 18th green of a championship course. Many a distressing medicine made me think tomorrow I break par. Keep living the dream partner.
