The title of one of my favorite hymns is "Be Not Afraid." If I can drive a golf cart, anyone can. Just watch out people south of 466 from October 8-15. :)

South of 466 well that would be me........I just need to develop a "Little Train" attitude. I think I can, I think I can..........if not I'll walk!. :undecided: I've thought of a bike but that could be even more dangerous since I haven't riden one in over 30 years.....

It comes back ... after I fixed the tires and got the brakes adjusted so I could stop, I climbed aboard and was off ... it was FUN ... wear a helmet and stick to quiet residential streets ... and have FUN!

I've been riding my bike almost everyday for the past two years. Love it! I was leery at first...because it was about thirty years for me also!

momesu - you have so many good suggestions re what to do - yet no one has suggested my favorite tradition - after freshening up from the drive and making yourself comfortable, pop your favorite bottle of bubbly and pour a tall one to enjoy on your lanai or out front in the driveway [you're sure to meet a new neighhbir that way!].

when we moved into our home in the villages we had travelled with a chilled bottle of rose regale and two flutes to make sure that we would be prepared to start enjoying ourselves right from the git-go! it is a celebration that you truly deserve!

Wonderful Idea, but shot I packed my flutes yesterday.........would it be tacky to drink straight from the bottle?

I sure can relate to your apprehension

My husband and I just moved to Buttonwood 2 days ago. We lived in New York our entire lives. There's so much to do!!!! lists to make, calls to make,,, changes, changes. Between packing to get here, and unpacking when the furniture arrives....Shopping for furniture....that' fun. but how do you find your way around?? This place is so huge! I just want to sit down and yell HELP!!!! I know it'll all work out, but until then, I'm a basket case....pretty sad cause until I retired I was a "shrink" LOL Well enough from me, Just wanted to let you know that there's Someone out there that sure can relate, Good luck, Tricia

Congratulations Sadie...and just take your time...relax and enjoy the chance to start a whole new life. I can't wait until we are able to do it...we're still in the getting it together here part...can't even think beyond trying to get this house sold and retire! I'm really happy for you!

Congratulations on the move.....it will all happen in time.....Find how to get to grocery store, Lake Sumpter Landing and your local pool......once you have those routes down then move out to new locales and adventures.
