At this point, we're not sure that we'll ever wind up in TV full-time. That's our current thinking, anyways. Just looking forward to being able to escape OH winters for now!!! :)

Reasons for feeling like we just can't leave OH permanently:
- Built a new home here a couple of years ago.....and just love it! We took a pretty fair beating when we sold our previous place and wouldn't look forward to potentially having to go through THAT again!
- Corollary to the above point: Having to move all over again! And a full-time move would require a downsizing of epic proportions - no more humongo storage building, getting rid of a number of vehicles, no more basement, disposing of some nice fairly new furniture, etc.
- Friends we've made here over all the years we've lived here.
- We actually like "the three good seasons" here (for the most part).
- Everything we've grown accustomed to - we're both rather "routine"-oriented people.

What we wouldn't miss (at least being away for the winter time):
- The snow, ice, salt, cold, driving/navigating in the stuff, snowblowing/shoveling, what the salt does to the vehicles, et al. We both dislike winters with a passion!

But maybe once we're able to completely break free from current work situations and spend a winter or two in TV, we'll change our minds about making it there full-time. Ya just never know...............time will tell!

Bill and Brillo..

Although our house in West Chester, Ohio isn't as new, we did build it to our specs and the basement is so difficult to leave. Space for everyone's projects and my ebay dance leotard business. We also have decent furniture, really overscale for homes in TV. But...we really want to live in The Villages full time after spending two winters there and ....we will really have to take a huge loss to do that. Sweetie can continue to work with monthly trips back to Cincinnati, but he really is ready for retirement, I think.

The family and friends are the hardest to leave.

Granville is a beautiful town, the quintessential lovely Ohio town. I can understand your misgivings.

Hope to meet you very soon.
kindest wishes,
Gracie

Most of all of course I miss being half an hour from my granddaughters. I don't miss Manhattan as much as I miss Brooklyn where they live. But every time I open up The New Yorker and see all the grand goings-on, I do miss Manhattan.
Aside from that, I miss knowing exactly where to go to find things I need to buy or to get things fixed. I find I use the Internet more and more for shopping, because it's easier and more precise than shopping in Ocala or Orlando.
I miss all the charming little towns and harbors along the Connecticut coast.

And West Chester's quite the nice place as well! Thanks for your feedback.

Graciegirl: I've created a new word that applies to you: "gracieous"!!! An appropriate derivative of "gracious"........... :)

Things I thought I would miss (and don't!):

- my basement (it was hard to get rid of all the stuff, but life is so much simpler without it all!!!)

- my friends (not that I didn't love my friends up north, but I made friends down here sooo quickly that I didn't have time to miss them.)

- the changing seasons (let's face it, sunshine all the time beats almost everything!!!)

- my work (yes, you can laugh....I really thought I might be bored without a job! hahahahahahaha NOT)

- my family (yes, I do miss them.....but they have ALL come to visit already!)

Things I miss from up north:

- cheaper cable (And by Comcast no less!)

- less expensive water (couldn't believe the water bills here...wow)

- Vernor's (no explanation needed if you're from Michigan)

- People that know how to drive ( sorry, but it's true!)
