My question on the Buena Vista grass issue is: who's dime is being spent. Is the developer paying or whomever was contracted for the lawn service in that area. ( Just thinking)

Bugs

My sales agent said it was some sort of fungus. Not sure who is right but when I took a close look at the damage, there were circular patches that looked like fungus damage.

when we lived in Sebastian we did battle with the chinch bug:pepper2: ..................We won at least a temporary victory :crap2:
had it sprayed and planted some plugs ............ shortly you couldn't see any of the damage .............. asked the young man working on the grass replacement WHY ???? ......... he said chemical burn and a lot of frost this past winter .............:clap2: ...............

Thank you so much for the web site, very informative. One thing for sure is when I move I will definitely have my yard treated. It is so sad to see things go brown, i.e. grass, trees etc. We have our problems up north here with gypsy moths and now we have a new beetle that destroys trees. I appreciate the info...thanks again.

Ahhhh yes...you must be from Michigan??? We were just up there and saw the devastation those critters created.

Here is the latest on what happened with the grass along Buena Vista.
The grass on Buena Vista between 466 and just past Stillwater Trail is being replaced at no cost to the Districts, due to a problem with a weed control chemical in the fertilizer the maintenance company put out at the end of February.
An official statement will be put on the Districts news website next week.
Also, on VNN Gardener clips by Erik Knudsen.

Here are the facts:

The grass on Buena Vista between 466 and just past Stillwater Trail is being replaced at no cost to the Districts due to a problem with a weed control chemical in the fertilizer the maintenance company put out at the end of February. No residents could have this same problem as they do not have access to this chemical. If they have something that looks similar it is probably chinch bugs. And no, there is no chance of that problem moving from our grass to theirs. We are getting the same calls. I will see if I can put something on the District news website to explain the same thing, and I am doing one of my short Villages Gardener clips on VNN next week on the same thing. ELK
