OH for heavens sake. It has been done repeatedly that Life Style Homes are sold. The transaction would be as a new home only as a technicality, it would appear to me. If these were shady transaction and anyone had the wool pulled over their eyes their would be outcry to high heavens by now.

We looked at several homes by Lake Sumter and thought they were overpriced. Some were adjusted down in price when they didn't sell right away, but I remember noting and having the conversation with the agent hosting the open house that the furniture was not in brand new condition. It certainly was not presented to us in any way as an attempt to sell something without full disclosure. How dumb would that be? They haven't been preowned and they aren't spiffy new either. AND the developer will sell them for as much as they can be sold for.

We stayed in one of these units 2 months ago. They are certainly maintained and cleaned to perfection but the concern about them being passed off as new is not valid. It is obvious they are not brand new. Anyone could tell rite away and TV doesn't strike me as a place that wouldn't disclose the previous use of these homes. Anyone who lives there is fortunate indeed....for the correct price.

The realtors hosting the three open houses that I attended that day told me these homes had been used in the past for the Lifestyle visits. Just as I told them I already owned a home in TV and was just looking. I've been looking at courtyard villas since I got a puppy but most of the garages are a tight fit with my Ford Flex and a cart! But I still love to go to open houses!

Why wouldn't the developer advertise these used homes as new? They don't tell you if you are looking at a house next to the dump, or if you are looking at a house 100 yards from a train track? They don't even disclose that this "gated community" is really open access to the public. So yes, it depends on what the meaning of the word "new" is...

As with the marketing of other properties that didn’t include all of TV amenities which were pulled from the Villages sales site, in this instance I believe a disclaimer should be included in the listing on the site to disclose how the home has been used in the past eight or more years. While many lifestyle visit homes have been sold in the past, these are very old and are not new homes. These homes can be sold on their own merits without giving the first impression of them as being new.

I think that you should tell that to The Villages Sales Manager whose name is Jennifer Parr.

It appears to me that they are being sold by the developer who will offer all the warranties and guarantees of a new home. It has not been owned by any other person but the builder who used it for rental and so in fact is like a new car that has been used for test drives in many ways.

Jennifer Parr will probably welcome your advice. How are your drainage issues coming along?

I believe that the managers of the Villages sales site will do what they can to minimize customer confusion if they see the need. My guess is that many topics discussed on this site are brought to their attention.

Consumer response has helped many companies to improve their business in many ways. I don’t feel that there is anything dumb or sorry about this discussion as long as it remains on topic which it has. I am trying to be positive here.

When creakside landing homes went up for sale we knew they were used for lifestyle visits. Fully furnished, but much wear on kitchen items and furniture. Even the bedding was the same. Newly painted. I do not remember if listed as new since our rep called us to say it was for sale did we want to look. No sense telling us it was new, we stayed at that house.

What is a new home?

Hi, we live in Creekside, we walk and bike ride around. Yes, they take previously owned, previously Lifestyle,
8 or so years old. They may remove all the old flooring, the older cabinets, anything that shows the age, they paint the total interior and the driveway, and yes, they do advertise them as NEW.
