I must really be obtuse. I thought they were new and was surprised to learn TV was still building in Lake Sumter area. Until I read this thread. Duh.
I would think, though, when a person goes to look at them, they are told up front that they are not truly new. It is misleading, IMO, and I'm surprised that some creative marketing person didn't come up with a better way to present them with full disclosure. |

What is a new home?
Quote:
How about "Full new home Warranty". That would work. But still, the HVAC is old and unless it was replaced not nearly as efficient as today's models. The roof life is 2/3 of a new one, the water heater has another 8 years, garage door opener and spring, plumbing fixtures, drain lines etc. etc. The warranty will carry through the next year probably with no problems. It's what's down the pike in the next ten will let you know it wasn't really new after all. I believe in buying new, much more cost effective then used. The fact that you thought these houses advertised new aren't, proves initial misleading information to the public. Since I stayed at Creekside for our Lifestyle I knew they weren't. But, the location is great ! |

The new area of Lifestyle Preview homes is Alden Bungalows just west of Brownwood (not Antrim Dells)

You mean by your definition.....not a legal definition, just your view....you should put a disclaimer when you post opinion.

The axiom that an 8 year old house is not new doesn't require proof, nor is it my opinion. |

It the homes are that old and have been occupied before.
Even if they haven't been sold before, in my opinion, they are not new and shouldn't be advertised as such. They also don't fit the definition of new as presented by RickyD. |

Was that an assumption you made, or did your Agent lie to you?

Maybe it is listed under new because of the financing required.
If you buy a new home from the developer you can only use a conventional loan.???
If you buy a used home listed by the developer you can use other forms of financing.???
