LOL I recall being really annoyed the first time you posted on one of my thread. I even stopped coming to the forum for a bit because I saw so many negative posts (not just that one from you).

Anyhow, these days I tend to agree with your posts more than most so I guess sometimes ya gotta get a feel for the place.

I posted it yesterday but my go to is Marks Prime in Ocala. I have simpler tastes than you possibly but it's a good spot all around.

Sounds like you should bartend so we can all taste & decide! Please tell us when & where.

I'll give it a try. We had Prime 3 in Leesburg and had a great bartender there and the steaks were pretty good. Pricey though.

My wife tells me I should do that for my retirement side gig. I'd probably enjoy it, but making drinks for 5 or 6 friends doesn't equal serving a bar full of snarky curmedgeons. I give credit to the bartenders because while I can make a good cocktail, I don't know how good I'd be under pressure and that busy.

My Bride says I could use a filter.

I have an A/C filter, a few oil filters, a few air filters, a water filter (not Nova, but that's a whole noth'r story)................so I'm not sure what she means.

My wife does not imbibe like I do. So I have my ride home most of the time. I'm lucky that way. As far as commenting on stuff, my wife is my filter. But if she's not around to give me the look, well I usually end up in an argument.

My daughter is a Rosen College @UCF Alum & they teach mixology. She worked as a concierge during college so we Ubered to many great bars & restaurants whenever I visited her in Orlando. If you ever feel like staying overnight there, International Drive (I-Drive) has many wonderful options. My favorite was Roccos Tacos Tequila Bar & Restaurant with fresh tableside Guacamole & warm chips & many great house drinks with a lake-view table.
Those who’ve mentioned the Boston-area have captured my attention too since my son just moved from Ipswich to Melrose so he can ride the train to/from weekend fun.

Ipswich/Essex....now you're talking seafood. Woodmans in Essex (next door) is where they filmed Grown Ups (Sandler). Tell him to try Turner's in Melrose...an oyster bar.

You mean World of Beer doesn’t rock your world? Maybe you need to warm up with a few bottled beverages then you'll suddenly like all of the mixed ones a lot more?

OMG I went there once on my lifestyle visit in 2021. Granted it was just after Covid crap. But I couldn't even find a good beer. I was shocked that their world included mostly mass produced garbage like Bud and Coors and that sort of crap. I haven't been back. I like a good cold beer and some fried crappy food just as much as anyone. Maybe they've improved?

I like The Matador in ORL. Some call it a dive...im ok with that!

I like my dive bars too! Met my wife in a dive bar. We are all over the place. Some night, dark dingy dive bar and Tito's and Soda.

Some nights, local pub with a some local microbrews.

Some nights dressed up a little better and craft cocktails.

If you feel like a beach vacay, Caddy’s beach bar on Treasure Island has live music on weekends & sunsets over the gulf. No place better IMO. Love the fried grouper & I don't usually like seafood.

I agree. Doing it at home and going out socializing are 2 completely different things.

In the Caribbean? They should be able to make good ones at any place that has Orgeat. Ask and if they have it, they’ll make a good one. Hopefully…..

I see the OP missed this. I’ll give you my 2 cents.

Plymouth is the gin I use in most cocktails… except a plain martini, in which case I use Tanqueray.

The only Cachaca I could find at total wine is the one I use. But if you ever sail on NCL, they have a Brazilian restaurant and bar where they serve these and they use a different brand.

Don’t’ know about the Manhattan. Sorry.
