From The Village of Winifred

The Eye Wall passed about 3:45AM and winds were very strong. This morning I see palm branches down and we have some plant damage. Haven't gone outside but all of the neighbors siding and roofs look good. Wind gusts last night 75+ mph. Scary bumps in the night and howling winds and rain. Winds last night were northern, this morning, they're southern. Strange but I understand why the winds changed direction. This morning wind gusts 20-40 mph. We got really lucky here! Now I can breathe again. :024:

:welcome: Welcome to TOTV.
We live in Belvedere in the winter season, so your report from Winnifred is much appreciated.

Hillsborough. We did not lose power.

13.6" of rain. The pond on the Prairie is very full. We did lose shingles, think they're from the garage. No water intrusion.

Leaves and twigs down, no branches. The neighborhood is 3 - 4 years old.

Some recently planted palm trees up the street were uprooted and fell down. One of these across the street. There is about a six feet wide and three feet clump of dirt jutting out of the ground where one of the palm trees fell over. A house sign hangs by one hook and is continuously banging on the light post in the winds. I tried to get it off but to no avail. Neighbors must be sleeping in.

I PM'ed Frank D'Angelo for a roofer recommendation---do you want me to share his answer with you?

Yes please, I live in LaBelle N and lost about 3 bundles of shingles

Certainteed Landmark shingles installed in this area are wind resistant to 110 MPH for 15 years. I don't understand why a 3 year old Lake Deaton roof would fail.

I am told that shingles are off part of my roof also in Lake Deacon.

Dunedin. Never lost power, no flooding. Some houses in my immediate area have lost a few shingles. As the wind is still gusting to 45+ mph, I haven't gone out to look any further. We got at least 10 inches of rain (the limit of my rain gauge) between yesterday and last night. Wind is supposed to slowly die down over the next several hours.

Wyotte: I don't either. We have 7 houses in our circle of homes with damaged roofs and lost shingles. Some more damaged than others but still?? The house are 3-4 years old!

The eye of a hurricane passed over us. Could be wind shear, could be a mini tornado.

Seems to have affected homes 2-4 years old. That is a possibility. All are south of 466 A.
