The New Balance aren't doing it anymore and the flip flops just don't have the support plus I've tripped in them a few times and don't want to fall.
What's your go to for everyday wear?

I highly recommend Brooks athletic shoes for sports and walking. Very supportive. Orthofeet for more formal shoes; again, very supportive. I do love my Skechers, which are very comfortable. For pool time, I wear Dawgs, which are similar to Crocs.

Go to Fleet Feet and try on Hoka’s they are the most comfortable. Your feet, knees and hips will thank you!

Hoka for everything. Oofoos from the shower to my socks.

The slip-ins of Skechers is very convenient. Given the cost, I don’t expect them to last very long.
For durability, I go with SAS in Brownwood. More expensive but they are comfortable from day one and last a long time.

Personal I like Skechers. They are lightweight, which helps my knees, and come in wider widths which works for me. The won’t last forever but also are reasonably priced and almost always on sale at the Skechers store so I can have multiple pairs without breaking the bank.

Skechers may be good shoes, unless you wear a narrow width. Their website lists 830 styles of men's shoes, but only two of them have a narrow width. Both of these are slip-ins, which I do not like. That is why I wear Rockport walking shoes.

mbene...Sketchers has a great walking shoe. There is a store by Rolling Acres in a strip mall with Target. Get the " slip ons" , no tying of laces, or bending over. Or you can also order on-line

Skechers Sliippns

Asics Running shoes, which are maximally padded (and I do not run). Their website is good about which shoes have the most padding.

Ditto!

Try brands called Bare Traps, or Bzees. Another brand more expensive is Vionic.

Try brands called Bzees or Bare Traps. Very stylish and comfortable for casual and nice. Extremely comfortable. Another brand good,
but more expensive is Vionic.

Oofos are the best. Especially in the house on tile. Go to the sale section and order a pair. That’s what I did to make sure I liked them before spending $100. Now I have three pair and my husband has two.

Miboater 05-15-2025 06:38 AM

I like Hey Dudes for around the house and when I'm not walking very far. Skechers for walking and when I can usually get them for around $30 at Costco I don't mind that they only last about 6 months.

I also use Lock Laces on every athletic shoe I have from my Skechers to my golf shoes to my softball cleats. They make every shoe I have a pull-on and haven't tied laces in years.

lots of different brands, you can actually continue in NB shoes if you like them the key to it is simple. in all my shoes, except the sketchers (which I'm phasing out due to lack of good support and inability to do this), you just buy inserts. We use Spenco, which are known for giving quality support to the nurses of the world. They have different models, we use the "total support" been using these for years, never a problem only felt better...even walking around all day

srswans 05-15-2025 06:58 AM

Ecco - wide toe box and very durable

Birkenstock sandals are my everyday shoe. For walking, I wear Hoka's. I have a pair of oofoos recovery sandals and they're super nice but they tend to be sticky because of the closed cell foam. They sell them at the flip-flop shop in Spanish spring if you want to try them on.
