TALK HOST,
Are you keeping track? Will you give us results what state the most Villagers are from? I'd like to make a guess right now that the overwhelming state will be either New York or New Jersey.

2BNTV 07-18-2010 06:52 PM

Yonkers, New York, (Westchester County). Go Yankees and football Giants!!!!!

mulligan 07-18-2010 07:05 PM

Worcester, ma seems to be well represented. I'm only a wannabe though, so once again I don't count.

Now, I know that I've seen about 8 or 10 people on this forum from VA. How come I'm the only one that will admit it?

Schaumburger 07-18-2010 07:54 PM

Born and spent my first 18 years in Dubuque, Iowa, which sits on the Mississippi River. Specifically Xavier Hospital which was converted to apartments for senior citizens about 15 years ago. Lived in Chicago (north side Rogers Park) and northwest suburban Chicago since 1979. Go Cubs. Hope to be in TV in a few years.

At least, Ohio first reflects the demographics of my block as well as the various people at Doggie Doo Run Run (DDRR). DDRR does have that rare creature though-- a native Floridian.

Two many options for a poll on home states. As it would need to cover the 50 states and the District of Columbia as well as Canada, Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, Mexico, Japan, etc.

graciegirl 07-19-2010 06:47 AM

Sweetie and I were born in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in Bexley and I grew up in German Village....before it was fashionable.

I am sorry you don't like the midwest, Redwitch. Tell me why.

Hated tornado shelters; hated the flat land. I really am a mountain gal through and through (no comment about Florida and it's flatness please -- I'm well aware of it and hate that aspect of this state) -- have been my entire life. As a kid, I didn't care if I lived in a urban or rural setting. Actually preferred the rural -- more freedom. It really is just a land/weather issue. (And, yes, I know all of the Midwest is not flat but the areas we spent any real amount of time were.)

The one thing I learned quickly as a child and have found it to still be true as an adult is that people are pretty good throughout the world. There are cultural differences whether in a different nation or a different region, but the goodness is there regardless. So, I've loved the people of Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, etc. as much as those of NY, NJ, California and Europeans, Asians, Middle Easterners, Africans.

I was just there - and by there I mean in the school! Changed a lot since I went to school there, a couple of hallways and classroom areas were the same, other than that I was lost. A good friend of mine (who later became a cousin-in-law) taught there for many years, is now retired.
