Default Home Ins on Designer

Asking this question for a friend who argues that home ins is high in TV.

Can someone give me a ballpark figure for home insurance annually on a $400K designer home?

Like Nancy, I would like information on home insurance at TV. From things I've read home insurance in Florida is very expensive and sometimes difficult to get. Any insight is appreciated.

nanci... you only pay insurance on the cost of the dwelling, not the original sales price (which at 400K probably includes a hefty lot premium).

Here's sample numbers.... replacement cost of the dwelling at 290K, 1,000 deductible, replacement cost coverage on contents, max liability limits, etc; 2% hurricane deductible; figure on HO insurance of about $1,000 per year...also assumes a block home of recent construction that has undergone windstorm mitigation inspection.

This is a very general number but is not anywhere near the astronomical rates closer to the coasts.
