Parking at Lake Sumter is tough even during (off season). However-since TGIF has been closed since last Fall and remains empty despite multiple rumors on this site--the need and use of the golf cart gas station/service center is very appealing and great idea for George DamnIfIknow...Lol

Why/how will the golf car repair facility take up a lot of parking spaces?

Don't see how there will be any problems with parking spaces. Most of the building (if not all) was built on land that was not part of parking spaces. The service department will be inside, and with the showroom (I think) on the second floor. Pumps I assume will be outside. I think it's great for the community, and easy access for many. Of course, it wouldn't make sense to have automobiles coming in and out, so I like the idea of "Carts Only"!! I'm sure we will have some people complaining for one reason or another, but Hats Off to The Villages for constructing such a great idea! Once completed, I think everyone (well almost everyone LOL) will be happy.

I asked "what is the name of the place"
the feller said "George's Place".

When I asked " what is George's last name "
the feller replied " DAMNIFIKNOW "

There you have it.
George Damnifiknow is going to have a nice new facility.

Any updates on the construction?
I am up north in PA and will need gas for my cart Jan 2,2015.
Today is the first time I have seen the Sun in 10 days!I miss TV.

We came by last night and they have the official business signs for Villages Golf Cart on the exterior of the building. So I have to believe it is a Village Golf Cart full service store. I cannot see where it is going to impact parking at LSL.

The old TGIF will probably open end of January, beginning of February. It will be Honest John's Whiskey & Provisions.

Based on the responses above , this is yet another failure by the owners of the space to " clear " their Plans with the proper authorities . When will " they " ever learn ?

Pity ..........................

We would love to have a convenience store somewhere off Morse or Buena Vista south of 466. If we need a couple of 3AAA batteries or a bag of chips.

It would be nice to have a convenience store handy instead of having to circle for a parking space at the grocery stores. Wish they could combine that with the golf cart garage business. Sort of a deluxe "Truck Stop Business" for Golf Carts and residents.

We use Winn-Dixie for our 7-11 type needs as well as regular grocery shopping and rarely have trouble parking in the lot near the liquor store.

Wonder if they will only sell gas to carts bought from them?!?!?!? :icon_wink:

BTW, to those who don't know, "non-corn" gasoline is considerably better to burn in small gas engines (2 and 4 stroke), i.e., mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers golf carts, etc.; helps keep moisture from forming and carburetors/fuel injectors from clogging up. Just sayin.

Brown wood is not the name of the new square. It is Paddock Square.

If you had noticed, the building was built on grass ground, without taking up spaces. The most spaces (if at all) that will be taken, is about 10. The only time that area gets full, is for Holiday shows etc. I think this garage is fantastic, for those who have gas carts, to purchase gas. And those who are electric, (like myself) can get cart serviced etc. PLUS, you can purchase new cart also. This will work out for everyone. Hope you get to enjoy also.

As I had said in August, it's a win-win for everyone
