Default What would you tell your aged mother?

Many of you have been in TV for a long time. You are obviously aware, informed and opinionated. What would you answer to your aged mother to the following question? "You know a lot about TV. I am looking for a house. Where, what villages in TV child, would you advise your dear sweet mother NOT to look? Why?"

Mom

Need more info... is she active? how active? can she drive? a golf cart, car? Does she just sit at home? big yard? small yard? Many different settings in TV from the historic OB Hills area to close to town square to distant areas. Each area offers something different. I don't think there is a bad place anywhere in TV.

I would tell my mom if she is lookin' for some action go to Katie Belles and to look for a house with not much lawn, because I am not cutting the grass and she would tell me I am a smart aleck. So what's new?

It's probably many other things than which Village. I would tell her not to buy near the power lines, backing to a busy street, near a sewage treatment plant, or close to the train tracks. Rationalize them any way you want, but they all have a negative impact on resale value. Focus on back yard privacy to enhance value. Then I would tell her to visit both town squares and see which one she enjoys the most. Then have her buy the biggest house she could comfortably afford close to that square while avoiding the other 4 things above. You may say she doesn't care about resale value, but someday she may want to downsize, move to assisted living, take a reverse mortgage or need the equity for some other reason. So she should still buy with resale value in mind. Oh how many of us have bought thinking it was the last place we would ever own.

Good advice. Where are the sewage treatment plants?
