Default Whatever happened to the B.V. (and Morse) resurfacing?

All through January there was a big electronic sign on Buena Vista blaring "ROADWORK BEGINNING FEB 3". The sewers have been blocked since Jan as well but now the electronic sign is gone and there is no "sign" of any work beginning? The "paid for by your taxes" sign is still there though. Just curious if anyone is aware of any problems . I'm only anxious because I want MORSE to get started because by MALLORY it's a mine field. That was supposed to start in March.

Just noticed, the big electronic sign sign now seems to be on 466A saying "ROADWORK STARTING 2/17 (today)" and of as of 3PM there was none. That sign has been there a week or so.

I don't know what they are doing but our roads are looking as crappy as the other roads in the county. Morse at the Havanna circle is in horrible shape and has been for at least 6 months. With all of our tax dollars, you would think they would do something smart like not having 5 people leaning on their shovels watching 1 person working as they do in Massachusetts

Default B.V and Morse resurfacing

Morse is full of pot holes from the Stillwater Circle to 466A both north and south. Now there are signs to resurface 466A from Morse to Canal Street. There is not a pot hole in site on that section of roadway! None of this makes sense! I went to the FDOT website and looked up construction and nothing was listed for resurfacing of Morse and B.V.

Spending too much time building south of Route 44?

You went to the wrong website. This is a Sumter County resurfacing project.

There is absolutely no reason, if the original construction of these roads were done properly, they should be failing so soon after being built...with what is basically very light traffic.

Particularly irksome, is the fact that since they were sold to the county after being constructed...it is now the county's taxpayer's problem.

I'll let the smart folks figure out on their own...what really happened.

In the meantime, we can only watch the completion of these roads and stew on the signs saying..."your tax dollars at work."

I was looking for those potholes too, and I couldn't find them either.

A lack of labor I’ve heard. Maybe bring back the “chain gang” for abled bodied that refuse to work and live off us taxpayers.

Exactly. I guess it's easier to repave the smooth and new areas. Less prep needed. Why are they repaving Morse or BV near Brownwood? The roads are almost new down there. Morse between Stillwater and 466A is a minefield of patched and re-patched pot holes.

Why would you look on FDOT website? The paving is in Martin, Lake and Sumter counties.

Default Rainey Trail DumpTrucks

We don't understand why they paved BV north of 44 and let these dump trucks come thru in waves of 10 to 15 at a time. Seems the truckers don't want to wait at the light on Powell Rd.
Where are the load restriction laws?

Yawn.
Yes, but the road looks like a patchwork quilt and is not very smooth to drive on. Honesty, other parts of the road were repaved and did not look nearly as bad as the area at Morse and Odel Circle near Havana Country Club.
