In other words, no one has a clue was going to be built there. There was no mention of it in yesterday's Construction Update in the Sun.

I like to know what I am getting and that it will taste like it did last time I got it. I just can't get into all of these independently owned restaurants. Too much variation. I'll take a chain any day. I love Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn, Carrabas, Chilis, Applebees, Outback, Bonefish. Would love to see a P.F. Changs or a Cheesecake Factory and Abuelo's mexican here. For breakfast any of the three you mentioned have great breakfast.

:mademyday: Exactly, Jnieman!

A much needed dog park would have been well used in that space.

Gator's Dockside was doing breakfast on the weekends and I don't know if this is still availabe. Last year Evans Prairie tried breakfast (menu, not buffet) and it was great and they couldn't drum up enough patrons so they stopped it and Mezza Luna tried it and it didn't catch on. Burke's Bar B Que is now offering breakfast.

1st caveat, I am directionally challenged. Aren't McDonalds and Blue Plate north of 466A? 2nd caveat: I am snarky. I didn't realize there was a specified number or Breakfast restaurants Allowed. WheRe can I find the allocation?

I just heard from retired person who knew a person who at one time worked as a starter. It's going to be a Macy's

Today's paper has a PDQ restaurant being built between McDonald's and Tire Choice in Colony Plaza. Checking online their menu is rather limited for my taste with chicken and turkey offerings but I suspect it will be popular with many residents.

This thread was confusing to begin with, but now more so.

Two thoughts:
1. OP says "barnyard style fence." I'm not sure what that is, but it sounds like a fence with vertical slats. Construction contractors don't use this around a construction site. I'm guessing that a display of something (golf carts, recreation vehicles, etc.) will be set up for a limited time.
2. OP says "between McDonald's and Walgreen's." According to the Daily Sun, PDQ won't be there, but will be between McDonald's and Tire Choice.

Any restaurant is a welcome sight for residents in the south of TV. Personally, I was hoping for a Bob Evans or Perkins. PDQ---does that stand for "pretty Damn Quick"?

If you were going down 466A and Walgreens and McD's were on your left it would be after Walgreens and before McD's in Colony shopping center. The fence looks very rustic but there are permanent looking wooden fence posts in the ground. There is only a small opening to enter maybe 7 ft. on one side. Like you said maybe the golf cart store will use it to store the extra carts or have a display there. It would make sense. But that is just a guess.

Yes for Breakfast. But, NEVER McDonalds, or any other fast food type!
Doesn't take much effort to prepare a great breakfast.

PDQ isn't bad but it is just another fried chicken place. Their calling card is the scores of sauces offered. Gino Torretta and Tim Tebow are big investors.

pklein9747 06-27-2015 09:35 AM

I think TV put the fencing up around the lot between the entranceway and McDonalds to keep landscape trucks and others from parking there. Many, many trucks stop at McDonalds at lunch time and park in the empty lot that will now house PDQ. If the fence wasn't there, I'm sure they would have parked on that empty lot. Guess they'll have to park in the parking lot across the street now. Less spaces for those of us who shop at Publics :(

Pointer 06-27-2015 09:38 AM

It's not knowing what's going on there that is hard. Leads to all kinds of speculation. Would be nice to know eh?

When my wife & I noticed the fencing on Thursday both of us said "what are they trying to keep out"? And I agree that with the announcement of the future restaurant east of McDonalds they are likely trying to keep the noon McDonalds rush off the field.

champion6 06-27-2015 11:28 AM

Is there more than one fence? The OP said the fence was west of McDonald's (between McDonald's and Walgreen's). Now you say there is a fence east of McDonald's - future location of PDQ.
