We went with a group of our friends (20, not 40) to Arnold Palmer Legends ... Himalaya Greens for a putting contest. Lots of fun. 9 holes of difficult putting, but it does go fast by putting a limit of 5 strokes on each hole. No charge for it, but you have to book it through the Arnold Palmer golf club. Definitely worth checking it out.

Arrange an evening putting championship at the Palmer Himalayan putting green. You can reserve it and have 9 holes with a shotgun start with 4 or 5 persons per group. Mix it up so they can get to know each other. No cost for the use of the course. We charged $2 for each person and had $80 prize money. We had a 3 putt limit per hole and if not holed by then score 4 etc. Took about 1 1/2 hours and then back to the rec center for prize handouts and catered dinner from Oakwood. Total cost $15/ person

I have a soup party every January but it's cold then! Everyone brings a crockpot of soup and you try them all! It's easy to host; put tables in the garage and supply lots of small cups. Perhaps a theme fitting with summer, everyone bring a melon recipe, or finger food appetizers or red, white or blue foods would be an idea for July.

I googled Victory Casino cruise and found their website. I enquired about a trip and they have not responded. Did you work with an agent? It does sound like a lot of fun for a little money.

Do a wine tasting. Everyone brings a bottle of wine and an appetizer, set a price limit of $XX per bottle. Assign a letter to each bottle, A, B, C, etc and give everyone a score card. Do a simple 1 to 5 rating and give everyone a very tiny cup. At the end of the evening declare the top 3 or so and let the wine owner tell where they bought it and a bit about it.

Another one close to this is "name the grape" Assign each person a different grape and have them bring a bottle of wine from that grape. Assign them a letter based on the grape and wrap the wine in tin foil and write that letter on the bottle. Pick a Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Sangiovese, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and again set a price limit per bottle. If you have 20 couples, double them up, two Cabs and so on with both having the same letter Give each person a score card with all the grapes listed and at the end assign winners. You can pick fewer grapes, maybe 5 or 6 to make it easier.

We went on a Victory Casino Cruise about a year ago. As I recall we arranged it through Senior Adventures. Not expensive and a lot of fun. Played bingo on the bus, and I seem to remember they gave us each some money to gamble with. Rough seas and some of us got sea-sick. Won a few bucks, so I didn't mind being queasy for a while.

Get a bunch of old golf balls and practice chip shots into other yards.

Everybody turn on their stereos on loud for an hour.

Invite people from outside TV to party with you.

Put twenty chairs on your driveway and rope them off.

Bring some kids in from Wildwood and let them drive your golf carts.

(Sorry, just had to)

:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl::mademyday: Thanks for that I may just have to try some of these.
And add a few of my own:

Chalk out lines of bodies and a guess which neighbors they could be. Neighbor who gets the most votes wins reflectors.

Hide a bunch of phony dog poop and see who can find the most. (Real stuff doesn't count).

On the forth of July get everyone to leave their golf carts beeping in reverse at a specific time in the driveways and or at a specific place.

See who can drive the golf carts the slowest while waving the american flag, this could be hazardous to some peoples blood pressure, so use caution.

put detour signs at 3 sides of a roundabout, with roped off seats in the middle reserved for those who want to watch the circus...for that matter you don't even need the detours!
