Subscribe. It’s like $68/yr. Then you call them to stop and they don’t charge you for the time you are gone. Just pick up when you come back. Best bargain in The Villages

It's $88 per year.

You can have mine. I walk out retrieve the newspaper from the driveway...the wife browses thru it in under 5 minutes...then it's in the trash bin.

When we 1st bought here 5-6 years ago, there was news in the paper and we liked it. Now very little news except sports.

Mostly stuff about what is going on here with some sports and a little bit of news thrown in.

Still read it over breakfast but not what I would expect of a traditional newspaper as it is not even close to being one.

Be interesting to see who the developer tells the paper to endorse for Sumter county commissioners.

Some people are afraid of commitment.

Yes, most mail stations have coin machines, 50 cents for the Monday to Saturday paper, and one dollar on Sunday. You can also buy the paper at the drugstores and grocery stores.

Are you sure that this is The Villages Daily Sun's current price? Seems to me that the current weekday price is at newspaper sellers is $1.00 and the Sunday price is $1.25 as printed on the front page. The yearly subscription to each edition is $88.

That price for example compares to Boston Globe weekday price of $3.00 and the Sunday price is $6.00. They offer a senior rate for weekday and Sunday for $21.80 per week or about $1,133 per year.

For those critical of content, you must first recognize that all daily newspapers are offering old news compared to what is offered on line for free.

So what you are getting is local news, advertisements, coupons, garage sales, homes sales/rentals, auto sales, crosswords, death notices, SODUKO, and opinions.

Some would criticize the Daily Sun as compared to the Boston Globe due to its slant towards The Villages and lack of detailed coverage of some world events. But the choice is theirs At the same time, are we that needy for all of the local news from any Town ,USA at a price of over $1,133 per year?

Thanks. According to the vending machine, the stated price is 50 cents daily and one dollar on Sunday. Although, today's Sunday paper does say $1.25 on the front page. So, they may be starting a price increase soon. The annual subscription is $88.

I would be happy to subscribe. My understanding is that you pay the $68/yr up front. So what if I cancelled for a total of 8 months a year, would that $68 take me through to 3 years from now?

Yep, I paid $1 at the vending machine for Sunday's edition this morning.
