Default Where do YOU use a portable grill?

Some recent threads have gotten me wondering. If you have a portable grill, either charcoal or propane, where do you do your grilling and what style house/villa do you own?

An obvious location is on the patio which may be in the back or on the side. But for some floor plans, it's a long walk through the lanai and dining/living room to the kitchen.

I'm wondering how many folks store their portable grill in the garage and roll it to the driveway for grilling. For some floor plans, this will be closer to the kitchen.

I'm just wondering

I have a cyv and leave my 2 grills under part of my awning when not being used and roll them all around the outside. Sometimes I want to set under an umbrella and have a few cocktails to get me in to the "chef" Darrell mode and cook right there.
Other times I roll it close to the sliders just outside our dining room.
It also depends on the wind and who I want to drive nuts with the great smell of steak or bbq.....don't forget the garlic!

p.s with a cyv you have a lot more flexibility in where you want to bbq since it is somewhat private and laid out nicely.

We have a designer home and my husband keeps the grill in the garage and when we grill he moves the grill to the front of the garage.

Default depends

not all CYV have the same floorplan and convenience for grilling. Same with ranches/designers, etc.

We will move our propane tank gas grill down when we retire and live most of the year or all of the year in TV. Right now, we keep a pedestal-style George Foreman electric grill down there (about 24-28 diameter). I think it's left outside on the side patio (Bonita model) most of the winter and while we're there in the spring and fall for our regrettably short visits. We have a grill cover which we hope gets used, but who knows?

After our spring visit, if it's not immediately rented, we clean and move it to the garage. I have no idea if the summer tenants (and we've had quite a few) use it or not. The electric option is great for snowbirds or landlords like us. I personally don't want to deal with propane tanks as a landlord. If we become snowbirds, guess we'll just use up the tank before leaving for the summer so as not to worry about it.

I have an Amarillo and I had a patio poured when I had the house built. I leave the grill on the patio and use it once or twice a week.

One of the reasons I picked the Amarillo is the location of the kitchen to the lanai and patio.
