which is the closest to the new areas..Mallory,Duval etc.

Also..what stores are in Colony Ridge Plaza and how close to the above areas.

My husband is the chef and he wants to be close to a store so when he has to run and pick up some items he forgot, he doesn't want to travel clear across to Publix at Southern Trace.

We live in Bonita (just off Canal St)which is just a little North of Duval. We love taking our golf cart to the new Publix at Colony Plaza. It is a beautiful store. The grand opening was a couple of months ago. The are a lot of stores opening up at Colony Plaza on 466A. Also it is easy to get to 75 from 466A.

sweet bay in sumter landing will open this fall so folks south of 466 will have at least two supermarket choices within the villages.

But how far is Colony Ridge from the new areas. In other words..If I lived in the Village of Mallory, how far would it be. My map does not have 466A on it and doesn't show Duval or Havana.

It is a short golf cart ride from Bonita. I go south on Canal to O'
Dell Circle. Go left to Morris, then take Morris to Colony Plaza. Don't know how many miles. I'll have to take the car sometime and mark the mileage. Barb

I had to go on the Villages site to see where Bonita was. I don't have that on my map (It stops at Liberty Park) but I do know where your talking. That is relatively close to Duval etc. Thanks

I am in Amelia and it is only a few mins to the new Publix.

without mapping it i'd guess mallory is probaby right in between colony plaza publix and the new sweetbay in sumter landing.
and shopping between colony plaza and the future brownwood square is yet to be announced but surely will happen.
i have three supermarkets within 20 minutes by golf cart that didn't exist when i moved here in 99.

We are seriously thinking about buying in that area and if we have grocery stores that close, my husband will be extremely happy!! He sometimes has to run the the store twice a day since he never makes a list!!

i live north of 466 so shop by short golf cart trips in all three counties of the villages.
but i'm 10 miles from the new colony plaza.
the villages has been growing rapidly. when i closed on my house in 99 no one expected the villages would cross 466 let alone 466a.
for years there had been a freeze on expansion in sumter county because of water rights litigation.

I recently checked mileage for several routes through TV, so as to create better driving directions for all my up-north friends who want to come and visit!

From CR466A and Morse Blvd (just west of the new Colony Plaza) to the roundabout at Morse Blvd and Odell Circle (very near Mallory Hill CC), is 2.1 miles by road. Pretty close to the same by golf cart.

From my house in Sunset Pointe (at least a mile west of the aforementioned roundabout)to the new Publix was 17 minutes by golf cart. To the one in Southern Trace, 20 minutes. Pretty much a toss up for me!

We live in Liberty Park and the new Publix is under 3 miles....a really short trip. DuVal will be shorter than that. The new Publix is very nice...and Sweetbay should be just fine. No worries.
