Hey Funnygirl, I'm in Alameda, CA right now visiting my daughter & g'kidz. They love Alameda (of course it's pretty & quaint, with all the amazing Victorain houses), but they haven't seen the Villages yet! I can hardly wait to show them the Villages. I love it there - although I'd like it a lot more if they'd throw in a few Victorian and other interesting architechural designs to provide more variety in the neighborhoods...

Excuse me for getting off topic! Since this is the 'where are you from' topic, I'm from several places: Arlington, VA, Searcy, AR (HU lifer), Oklahoma City, and Mt. Dora.

We lived in south florida for 30 years. Before that , long island,NY. I grew up in atlantic city (before the casinos ) and my wife grew up in boro park, bklyn.

We are from Indiana, Pa. Jimmt Stewart's home town. Lived 34 years in Winthrop Harbor, Il. Moved here in 2004, so far so good.

i grew up in dayton ohio,moved to cape coral fl in 1977,then to the villages in 2005 when i retired from suncoast contractors sply as a buyer of bldg materials. glad to be here. made a lot of real nice friends.

Born in Somervile, Mass but grew up in Chelmsford, Mass

Lived in various parts of Mass, including the Cape and moved to Marco Island, FL in 1979 for 10 years and lived in the Naples/Ft. Myers area until we came to the Villages in May

I grew up in a little town in NJ called Maple Shade. Not many people have heard of it. My grandfather actually owned a golf course there, but I was too young to play.

I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Lived in California and Hawaii then Virginia for 30 years before retirement to the Villages. My husband was born and raised in Kastl, Germany. Lived in New Jersey, California, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and then Virginia for 30 years. Now in the Villages.

We love it here and having lived in a couple of states, are delighted with Central Florida.

Moved here from beautiful Saratoga Springs, New York. My husband was born in Lockport, NY and I was born in Albany, NY. We love to tell people we are now from The Villages, Fl

There are a lot of Daytonians in the area. I am a Belmont HS grad and my wife is from Stivers HS. Both of us went to Wright State U. Going to Dayton this week for a family reunion.

Another Ohio resident here! Just bought ranch in Amelia. Not sure when I will be permanent. DD graduates from OSU Vet School in 2008 and I want to stay here for that. Am 53 and a widow. Will be down several times a year.

Hi,
I'm from Millwood, New York. I moved down here about 2 years ago. I'm single and came down to meet new people. I took an early retirement and wanted to start living my life. I'm new to this and want to know how can I connect with other people on this site.
