Pittsburgh, PA --We will become "Snowbirds" for the first time this winter. Anybody ever hear of Turtle Creek PA? Have a lot of other questions about golf leagues, painting classes, golf cart rental / purchase, fitness centers, fishing clubs, etc. Patty and Tom gearhunter@aol.com

Re: Where are you from?

I knew Turtle Creek well in my younger days. My parents lived on the Greensburg Pike and quit a few Aunts, Uncles, and cousins in the area. It seems I only get back there now for funerals. My plan is to be full time in TV after I retire in March.

Re: Where are you from?

To DickY My parents lived off the Greensburg Pike on Wallace Avenue. I see we are the same age. I just retired today and am coming to TH in December. Are you a member of the Three Rivers Club? I understand there are a few others from Turtle Creek down there and 4-5 other couples will be coming down [with me?] later on. Probably run into each other

Hi! I'm Renie and my husband is Steve. We grew up in Kansas (Wichita and McPherson) and moved to Michigan a few years after we were married. Since I'm not retired (my hubby is, lucky guy!) we still maintain our home in Hamburg, Michigan but spend as much time as we can here in TV. Hamburg is located about 15 miles north of Ann Arbor. In Michigan, we live on a chain of 7 lakes and love to boat and have been exploring the inland lakes around TV so we are ready to enjoy the water when we move here permanently (hopefully in about 2 years).

Hi Brightspot!

Dont recall seeing your name in the forum before so I assume you are new to TOTV?

just wanted to say :welcome:. I think you will enjoy visiting the forum. It is fun and informative. Just be careful, it can be an uncontollable addiction and then you might have to join our TOTV support group. LOL. We are waiting too for the day we can say we are permanent villagers.

Hi Nonie!
We've had a home in TV for about 2 years but I just recently found the forum. OHHHH... :agree: I can see why it would be easy to get addicted here...I find myself at this site often reading the posts and replies 024 and responding more and more!

Re: Where are you from?

My wife and I were both born and raised in Brooklyn NY ( Ya got a problem wit dat ) We were "Going Steady" all through High School. After graduation and the service and a trip along Rt66 to L.A. I came home and married my high school sweetheart. We moved to Wantagh LI then to Holbook LI and then to Seatauket Harbor LI. After 30 years on LI, and at my age fifty, we retired and moved to Boca Raton FL also bought a house in Brevard NC. Did not like Boca so we sold and moved to Fort Myers Fl, we decided after seven years that we did not want to leave Fort Myers in the summer, so we sold the house in Brevard. We have been, and still are very happy in Fort Myers but, after a lifestyle visit and a months rental, we have concluded that The Villages is better, much better, and we can not wait to move there. We were hoping to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in our new home in TV in May. We are still hoping.

I was brought up in Plainfield, Connecticut but lived in Enfield, CT before moving to The Villages. So I'm very familiar with Lebanon, Norwich, Preston and the casinos as previously posted.

Many years ago I was a toll collector on the Mohegan Pequot Bridge when it was a 15 cent toll. That bridge now leads into the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Love The Villages now.

I thought all the Mohegans died out with Chingachuk, but I guess his cousin Cha Ching is still around.

:clap2: :clap2: We are from the great Midwest! State of Illinois -the Land of Lincoln. Bloomington-Normal is our summer home. This is the home office of State Farm Insurance. Have spent the last 8 years in Palm Springs in the winter. Usually 3 mo. at a time. Beautiful area with the mountains and sun. Moved to the Villages a year ago for 6 mo. a year and just love it. Who needs mountains as we do not have time to look at them! :2excited: :2excited:

Lou, that is the sweetest and most sincere comment I have seen on TOTV in a long, long time. "Honey" is very lucky.

Lou and Carla, I went to Freedom and Asbury Park High Schools. Worked on the boardwalk during the summer and cruised the circle when I could. Have some really great memories of Monmouth County.

Hi Mr. and Mrs. Sailor,

Sorry you will not be able to join us at Crispers this month.

Once a month TOTVer's meet at a restaurant called Crispers. It is in the shopping center on Rt. 466 near Publix. We meet at 3 pm on the third Friday of each month.

We meet at 3 pm because the lunch time crowd has left already and we have the place primarily to ourselves.

If you need more info please do not hesitate to email me. When you can make it to Crispers please let me know, so we can all welcome you.

Once again Congratulations and :welcome: to TV.

From one of your 65,000 new neighbors.

Hyacinth Bucket
