Where's the rest of the Kitchen?
While looking at many of the new Courtyard Villas in the mid 200K to low 300K price range, I noticed that many of the models are no longer the models that they were. The kitchens were downsized to the attached picture. Would this new kitchen with so few cabinets work for you?

Storage?
Looks like there is a pantry just across the hallway.

We noticed that the kitchens were changing and becoming very small along with a bar that is counter height which we did not like across the board. In addition, as mentioned, the price was high. For this reason we bought back in March while we could still find the kitchen we liked. Not worth it in my book.

I have a rental with guests who stay months at a time. It is also equipped with a whole house electric monitor. And plenty of kitchen equiptment, in a large kitchen. If I am interested I can see what is on at any moment. I don't but I do look at the monthly consumption (by minutes used and wattage) wrap up for this all electric home.
People use the microwave more and not the oven by a long shot. This holds true for over 70% of the guests. People don't cook and I have ample data to support this. |

There is no other word to use for that so-called kitchen than ridiculous. No, actually, another adjective would be absurd!
Even if the adjacent closet is a pantry, the developer should still be ashamed of themself for approving and building that monstrosity. Even if a resident rarely cooks, those two cabinets would barely hold their dishes and glassware. Just remember . . . Man does not live by bread alone! |

I would take one look at that kitchen and walk out of the home. Deal breaker.

The double doors are the washer and dryer not a pantry.

The Moonstone patio Villa
I have a patio villa that I just bought. It’s a gourmet cooks paradise and has twice as much cabinet space as my Gardenia.
I love it no more balancing glasses on a tall kitchen bar that went out of style in 2006 . I’ve been building and selling for years. Basically the style has been all one level counter and bar. Simply get lower bar stools. This is a perfect model for the long term renter! |

The HGTV “open concept” fad has been overdone to the point that kitchens have become showrooms instead of functional rooms. I admit that some look pretty and sleek, especially if you have appropriate space, but in most smaller homes, the open concept just isn’t practical for those who actually cook and need cabinet and counter space.

There are other models. If you do not like this one, then look for something else. Maybe a Villa is not what you need.

Just wondering... since open space is cheaper than space that has cabinets or etc, maybe this is yet another way to make more money?? Naw, that couldn’t be the reason - lol
