It doesn’t matter who you elect. They do not have the right to override freedoms guaranteed us by the Constitution of the United States. Or take away amenities that we are paying for! This can only happen if you let it happen.

I'm not sure what your first sentence is meant to be. It seems that your asking a question, but there is no question mark and some words seem to be missing.

Our healthcare is in our own hands. People need to be responsible for themselves.

The Villages is following the guidelines set forth by the state. The idea is that people meeting in close proximity could contract the virus and then give it to someone that is vulnerable due to other underlying conditions.

What they are doing seems to have worked very well as the state of Florida has one of the lowest infection rates in the country and considering the density and close proximity of the population in The Villages, it is shocking that we don't have a very high rate of infection and death.

What exactly is your question?

We have been members of Villages Healthcare since 2013 and have found them to be most personable, attentive and professional. We are never hurried and we seldom have to wait beyond our appointment times. We've both had surgeries at the Villages Hospital and have received excellent care. The services provided by them exceeds any medical care we received back in Austin, TX. I highly recommend them with no reservations whatsoever. Perhaps your experience has been different, but the folks at the Santa Barbara location are wonderful!!

Many people obviously don't understand the point of the restrictions. They are in place to protect vulnerable members of our society from a potentially devastating illness. Yes, those people can avoid voluntary recreational activities. But, they probably cannot avoid going to stores, banks, post offices, gas stations, doctor's offices, etc.

So, if the only people you interact with were people who are aware of, and approve of your lack of social distancing, and the only people they interact with know that those people had interacted with you, etc., etc., then you'd be golden. But unless you and everyone you interact with, and everyone they interact with is willing to not go to the grocery, or any other "essential" place of business, then you should do what is necessary to protect those who need to be protected.

This is not about "you". It's about protecting others. If you don't care about possibly contracting the virus, fine. If your spouse is ok with maybe contracting the virus from you, fine. But what is not fine is you and your spouse infecting and perhaps killing, vulnerable people because you don't want to be bothered with taking any precautions.

Village Healthcare is not the issue of the OP. However, The Villages Hospital has the worst rating of a “1” by various heath, state, and insurance ratings. For just one, here is the link to Medicare ratings. Notice, ratings on timeliness, infections, complications etc. I would disregard mortality rates due to our demographics.
