I have a lot of trouble finding comfortable closed-toes shoes to fit me. The New Balance shoes I used to get, were only available at New Balance stores. Eventually they stopped selling them at any store at all and now you can only get them online or order them from one of their stores.

Another brand I love, Abeo, was made for the Walking Store, which no longer has any brick and mortar stores at all, and you can now only get them online.

The third brand I can wear is Brooks, which is stupidly expensive.

Because I have one fallen arch - one /not/ fallen, a neuroma in the other foot, and my longest three toes are the same length, I can't wear pointed-toe shoes, I need very firm arch support, and a thickly cushioned shoe to hug my feet in position. I used to be able to wear those Skechers rocker shoes, but too many stupid people thought they didn't have to learn how to balance, and fell and sprained their ankles when wearing them. Oh yeah and they thought that shoes would actually make them lose weight. One class-action lawsuit later and they ceased to exist.

I can't wear any high heel shoes at all anymore, not even wedges. Flats must have an arch support. They must have a box-toe construction.

So I feel your pain - but I also recognize that my personal needs are not profitable enough for shoe manufacturers, and my options are limited. Most adult men don't have narrow feet, so it's not profitable for shoe stores to keep a supply of narrow shoes in every size in their store "just in case" a customer happens to need them.

I hear you! I’m concerned about this as well. I use Amazon a lot. But they’re using tons of cardboard boxes; are these reused in any way? I ordered a lipstick recently and it came solo in a big box! Could have used a paper or plastic sleeve.

Yes, we used a lot of them when we moved out of out last house and doing it again when we move this time. In fact, somebody moving to another house put on ND that he had moving boxes if anyone wanted them, so as a result we doing this move with 100% recycled boxes!

Just heard on news that Amazon will begin a $1 return fee. Nothing to return from them....yet. Anyone run into this charge?

I cannot blame Amazon if they tack this on. We know some folks who return many many items - free of charge. We probably return 5% of items from Amazon for various reasons. One reason why we LOVE Amazon...

I returned something yesterday and there was no charge. But, I rarely return anything. I could have returned it to Staples and gotten a 15 percent discount Staples coupon.

Now if only the gov't would hire Amazon to build their IT infrastructure.

“ Amazon set the standard for online shopping with fast delivery and free returns but now, they are cutting back on return drop-offs to UPS stores. According to Forbes, Amazon customers who live near Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, or Kohl's locations will be charged a dollar now if they return items via a UPS Store.Sep 19, 2023”
