Great news he was in the "99%" Hopefully since he was on a ventilator he won't be a "long-termer" (which is the greatest unknown) so he can quickly get back to his normal activity. While there is still too much death, there is less worry about death these days with all the treatments and increased knowledge of the disease but the after effects can still be quite debilitating in many cases especially heart & lung problems.

@RuthA

Do you know for certain how your body will react if you do get the germ? Do you know if you have any undetected co morbidities which the virus will exploit? Do you know which strain you will get for sure?

I asked my Mother's (94) primary for any reason NOT to get the shot. She said no. And she said that her husband's friend felt sick on Friday, admitted to hospital Saturday and dead on Tuesday at 50 something. . .

Go ahead and spin your health lottery wheel and lets us know what comes up please.

Going forward on this thread......please let us know the manufacturer of the vaccine that you had. If would be very helpful to have that information when reading about the side effects everyone is experiencing or not. Thanks.

For crying out loud, your DNA does NOT get changed. The MRNA shot simply TEACHES your immune system to recognize and fight the intruder. It does not give you COVID, does not change your DNA. Get off of Facebook, it's not healthy to your common sense.

Got the second Moderna shot today at 11 AM. So far, not even an arm ache. Will post tomorrow on how it goes.

Maybe not eye to eye, but we're still humans and most humans have empathy for each other if they are "human." I disagree with family members occasionally but we are still family. Disagreeing with someone does not make anyone my enemy. Everyone has their own opinions and sometimes they do not correlate to an agreeable discussion. That just makes it all the more interesting. Sometimes I learn something or I might even compromise.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Wishing you mild resulting effects. Please keep us updated. We are four weeks away from our second dose. My arm is a bit sore now from the first shot I received yesterday. It took this long before I noticed.

UPDATE: 32 hours post-vax with Pfizer #2 and still no issues. FWIW.

I had my 2nd Pfizer shot 9 hours ago. No sore arm or any other symptoms at this point.

Lake County moved vax location from the community college in Leesburg (on 441) to the mall just a bit further down the road (Lake Square, is that the name?) The first time we got to stay in our car and the whole thing took about 30 minutes. Now you have to park and go inside the mall and there were many more people. (I assume they got a larger supply of vaccinations.) Still, I was in and out in 40 minutes.

My wife and I received our 2nd Moderna shot at Publix in Ocala last night. We were in the test in Marion county before GMR started. We found it to be very well organized. No side effects this morning. Had a slight sore arm after number 1 but nothing after 2.

Getting to “Herd immunity” is what getting the shot is all about. Wife and I get our second Moderna vaccine on February 11. First one was a piece of cake.

With all due respect, 99% recovery rate is an overall recovery rate. If you factor in age and underlying health issues, this changes everything.
