FYI: Taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen (Advil or Tylenol) prior to getting your Covid-19 vaccine can lessen your immune response to it. Taking it after the vaccine is fine.

You can take Tylenol according to my doctor.

Covid-19 Vaccination Question
After receiving your first shot you should receive a Covid-19 Vaccination Record card. It lists the name of the vaccination you received. Should it also list the lot number on the card? Mine was filled out with the name of the vaccine but not the lot number.

Terrible long term effects for another 2%. |
Had second shot on Tuesday morning. Felt fine throughout the day but that night experienced severe chills and next day felt like I had a really bad case of the flu. Was in bed most of day. Today feel fine today with no side effects for some soreness at injection site.

I have been helping administer vaccines (both Pfizer and Moderna) to healthcare workers in a Chicagoland hospital for the past 6 weeks and majority of complaints were a sore arm. I can honestly say that complaints were very similar for both groups. Some had flu like symptoms that last about a day. We advise people not to take anti-inflammatories prophylacticly as it may decrease the effectiveness of the vaccine. However, if fever, soreness, etc occurs after vaccine, it is ok to take then. And I also observed that the older population of people I vaccinated tolerated it better than the younger ones. All in all, these symptoms were far from the devastation I have seen in the past year from Covid-19! Good luck and God bless!!

Great info from Mary.
Mary,
Thank you for posting your experience. |
Received the first dose yesterday at the Orlando Convention Center. Behind us was a black RR Limo with the driver wearing a mask and the person in the rear also wearing a mask. In the parking lot for the 15 minute wait there sat this limo right next to an 80's era very used Dodge. COVID is an equalizer .

I had my second shot last week (Moderna). My arm was sorer and more raised at the site. There still is small swelling, but it continues to come down. My wife got her first shot (Pfizer) yesterday. She did not sleep well last night and the site is a little sore. No big deal.

Got my second shot of Moderna vaccine Tuesday. Felt fine all day. That night woke up feeling a little hot. Got up and felt cold. The next morning had a mild headache and some fatigue and muscle ache. Overall felt like a mild flu. The next night I slept much better and woke up feeling about 90% better. I had no reaction at all to the first shot. Well worth the minor inconvenience for a day.

I fully agree. Thank you for posting and for actual, intelligent information.

I had the 2nd Pfizer vaccination with no issues. With the 1st Pfizer, I did have slight soreness at the injection site for two days. I suspect this is pretty much typical for most of us seniors. I would not hesitate to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Lake County now has a very efficient system in place at the old Sears store at the mall in Leesburg. Best Wishes to all.

We got our second shot last week and other than a sore arm absolutely no side effects with either.

Didn't you get your appointments for your second shots at the time you made your appointments for your first shots with GMR? Just wondering why you are expecting GMR to call you for your second shot appointments? When I made the appointment with GMR for my first shot back on Jan 13, I was automatically given the appointment for my second shot exactly 28 days later (Feb. 10) at the same time of day. I'm going to the site on 466 on Feb 10 for my second shot. I already have the bar code saved on my iPhone for that appointment. That is UNLESS I hear from GMR before then and my appointment date is changed. |

Received our Moderna first shots yesterday. No reaction so far. Received a date and time for our second shots next month.
Got our appointments with Pubix on line. An hour and a bit more drive to get it was just fine. |
My wife and I had our second shots this Wednesday. We had mild pain at the injection site with the first shot but had a greater reaction with our second shot, which appears to be normal. I got tiredness, low grade fever and other flu like symptoms within 6 hours and stayed home and watched TV for a day and a half. That wasn’t pleasant but well worth it to now be resistant to COVID. My wife was OK first 24 hours and then it hit her and she retreated to bed. Same symptoms as I had just more delayed. The good news is that if you have a good immune system you actually may see more side effects. That is why younger people may get more side effects than older people from the vaccine. Normally our immune system becomes compromised as we age unless we do aggressive physical activities such as walking and bicycling. (I bicycle over 100 miles a week and my wife fast walks over 25 miles a week. We are both in our mid seventies.) Bottom line for us is we had some limited flu like side effects but we are so happy to have had our second shots and hopefully we are building a good immunity to COVID.

Had a slight headache and woke up feeling a little body ache and tired later in the day. Within 24 hours of receiving the second shot everything cleared up and I feel totally normal. Even the injection site is painless.

Do you know for certain how your body will react if you do get the germ? Do you know if you have any undetected co morbidities which the virus will exploit? Do you know which strain you will get for sure? I asked my Mother's (94) primary for any reason NOT to get the shot. She said no. And she said that her husband's friend felt sick on Friday, admitted to hospital Saturday and dead on Tuesday at 50 something. . . Go ahead and spin your health lottery wheel and lets us know what comes up please. sportsguy |
