You may asking. Who was that person???? Why did leave so quickly? Why did he take a picture?

That was me - James.

Today on September 5, 2014 I completed the 75 Village Pool Challenge.

Starting this morning at 7:00 A.M. I visited all Neighborhood Pools (NP), Family Pools (FP) and Sports Pools (SP) in the Villages.

There are 75 pools in all.

My endeavor was completed exactly 10 hours later at 5:00 P.M.

Attached are some pictures of my endeavor.

Who took the photos of you? Why did you do this? Did you do this just as a personal challenge, something you wanted to do and thought would be fun? My husband has been itching to do this with the country club pools but take our time and do it by cart. I bet it was fun, James.

Give us the scoop, please. Are you writing a blog, a book, do you live here full-time? What is your next project? What's the funniest thing you saw?

Well done young man!

TNLAKEPANDA 09-06-2014 07:58 AM

Too be honest it would take me several days just to find all 75 pools. You might want to start a personal guide service! Nice going.

That is a great idea... think you can beat his time?

Way to go. I did not see you at Lynnhaven but then again I only walk around it with my pooch.

I have been here since June 2005 and have only been in three Villages' pools.

I want to know too. Bk is a retired journalist but I am just nosy.

Do you live here? Are you visiting? Are you going for a record?

A couple who are friends of ours is doing this too, leisurely and one at a time; their goal is to swim in all of the pools of The Villages.. I think that the girls are enjoying themselves too. They recently moved here and in a short time have really jumped in with both feet.

I would have to believe that James is a little bit younger than me but I think I could keep up and get in a little exercise.

It also reminded me of "The Swimmer" having just seen it for a second time a couple of months ago on TCM, that's a great movie.

I'm wondering which villages didn't have a neighborhood pool? There is suppose to now be 78 villages, and when you include family and sports pools, 75 seems a bit short. I believe there are 64 rec centers, a day of rec center pools might also be a challenge, especially since some have organized activities.

I did a small version of this in 1970 at Panama City Beach. I was in the Army going to school at Ft. Rucker, Alabama and a group of us would go down to PC on the weekends. One week it was raining all day and nobody was out at the pools at the motels, so another soldier and me swam through every motel pool on the beach side. At that time there was only about 15 motels. That's when I should of bought some real estate, it's now about 30 miles of hotels and condos.

Actually saw you at Lake Miona Sports Pool as we were in Water Aerobics and saw you come thru the gate by the line forming for the next class. You stepped down into the water on the pool stairs , snapped the photo then left. Actually we thought you may have been a journalist from Playboy getting photos for an upcoming article.... Tee-he :-)
Congrats on your accomplishment!

justjim 09-07-2014 03:26 PM
