I DO NOT remain in my home; I work with the public 4 days a week. I DO wear gloves and a mask because I do not know the people I come in contact with, where they've been or who they have been around.

There are too many people here in TV that think the world revolves around them and don't care if they infect anyone; those are The Village Idiots.

If the shoe fits......

Like the way you call it.

I think most people at our age know how to cook.
They may no longer want to but they know how.

Where are you going to get your haircut? Hair salon? To name a couple.

Most residents will manage through.....many small businesses might not!

It was just announced that TooJays is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They are the first of many businesses that will show what this shutdown has done to the small businesses of the Villages and the country.

I am guessing you must be under 65 to not be concerned getting Covid-19? Of course we are all worried about business. The economic onslaught on the entire world will cause all of us harm no matter if we have savings. I am wondering since we have not seen the full year cycle with this new virus, if it wanes during the summer like the seasonal flu? Since I am in the most risky segment, over 80, I will be outdoors on my front porch and cutting a few roses back as I watch my husband trim the trees and bushes. It seems so clear to me that most of us in The Villages do not need to risk getting this nasty virus because of it's heightened attack of the lungs and oxygenation. I am so grateful to see that younger people are not so at risk of death.

Emphasis on “dying” to spend it

neither am I in a rush ….they're all entering a totally new business model...and it will take awhile for them to get it right (as well as for the public to understand it)

last thing I'm interested in is jockeying with a bunch of hungry folks rubbing elbows with me trying to get in before me by cutting the line

if I don't want to cook I'll go to a business that already had a 'take out' window service as part of their business model (and we'll eat in the car...just like we did in the old days
at the car hops)

Retail for the small businesses, even with restrictions on percentage of people will be an improvement for them.

We ate at the restaurants just before the complete closure. Tables inside were spaces out, as well as outside

tattoo parlors can remain closed forever as far as I'm concerned....getting inked up isn't appealing to me in the least

Remember the flu and the drivers here? Better stay in forever!

You are over 60 and don't know how to cook?. What else can't you do.. $1200 in the big scheme doesn't do anything to help long term

rlcooper70 04-30-2020 06:34 AM

Change can indeed occur ... with some intelligent and thoughtful decisions. Pools - ten people. Simple. Restaurants - outdoor dining and spacing. Golf ... open the courses until 6 PM.

Question: Why are they restrictive with golf? Saving money on employees? What else?

vinricci 04-30-2020 06:39 AM

Brothels?

Yep, they'll stick it to their creditors, stay in business free of debt and come out of it smelling like a rose. The ones that will get hurt are the creditors. Taking advantage of the system, happens every time there is a downturn in the economy and it is totally legal.

I am so glad we are starting to move on. View this YouTube to better understand why continuing to shelter is not the best idea.
