Sumter Landing WD
I used to love the salad bar at the Sumter Landing WinnDixie, but now, not so much. WD stopped the salad bar during covid, and although it has been re-started, itās not that good any more. I think a Lot has to do with which employee is assigned to coordinated the ābar. Some are simply better than otherās. Sadly, WD isnāt using itās āfirst teamā on the ābar anymore - which in turn causes the sales to decline. Eventually, I expect the bar to simply be removed...(again) because itās just not profitable anymore.

Salad bars
Not much of a fan of salad bars in grocery store, no one seems to monitor them for freshness as well as refilling and cleaning. Never sure how long items have been sitting there either, however I have seen them up north in NYC before we moved south. Those in NY were awesome but expensive.
When we lived in Georgia we used to go Jasonās Deli, really great salad bar, sandwiches made to order as well as homemade soups/chili. For holidays they also had pies and cakes to special order. Everything was super fresh and clean! Really wish they would franchise here. |
I used to use the salad bar at the Winn-Dixie frequently (yes, I wash my hands and am careful at these). The one at LSL seemed to be replenished frequently as I'd hit it different times. I've missed it, truth be told. I never saw anyone else doing weird stuff (picking at the various offerings with their hands). The deli-person seemed to take care in doing what she needed to do. The one at Publix (Grand Plaza) is a close 2nd but in my opinion wasn't quite as good. Covid has placed fear in so many people that they otherwise didn't have before. Suspician seems to be ever-present.

Publix at Buenas Aries Boulevard and 441
[QUOTE=wsachs;2023276]Winn Dixie in LSL has one, just like before. Never saw one in any of the Publixā¦
The Publix at 1566 Bella Cruz Drive, itās at buenas Aries Boulevard and 441, has a pretty decent salad bar. I was just there last night. |
Have never seem them here

I lived in Ringgold, GA which was on the GA/TN line. There was a Jason's in Chattanooga and it was my favorite lunchtime restaurant!

yes some drool or a couple of Sneezes goes great with a salad... Always loved watching people pick
and eat toppings.. |
I sometimes have stopped and watched people doing weird things at salad bars , sometimes it can be like a gross reality show. I never cook but I eat a lot of salad , itās just as easy to get different packaged or non packaged salad mix and add some other vegetables.I have a little tip so you donāt end up with some leftover, I just eat it all day , I grab a handful of greens even in the morning , when I come home I grab some and eat it , you donāt just have to have a regular salad , you can eat it all day
